Five shows that will capture your attention

Twin Peaks

One of David Lynch's major works, a mysterious cult TV series everyone has at least heard about if not seen. The story begins in the small town of Twin Peaks, where the body of the Homecoming Queen, Laura Palmer, is discovered washed up on a riverbank. Who killed the girl and why did they do it? Watch FBI agent Dale Cooper trying to answer these questions over a damn fine cup of coffee.

Eureka

Eureka is a highly classified town, inhabited by the country's most intelligent scientists. In this remote community, they are free to experiment and produce new inventions. Each episode is built around some problem caused by the improper use of technologies which threaten both the town and the whole world. It's up to U.S. Marshal Jack Carter, who ended up in quirky Eureka by accident, to restore order.

The Lost Room

Detective Joe Miller is on a desperate search for his little daughter who disappeared from a room in an abandoned motel. There's one unexpected complication: that room exists outside of normal time and space. The only hope for Joe comes in the form of a mysterious key that, combined with one of a hundred seemingly ordinary objects, can turn any door into a portal to the lost room. Now Joe just needs to fight his way through the legions of collectors obsessed with magical artefacts and find the right combination.

Rome

The series begins in 52 BC, as Gaius Julius Caesar conquers Gaul after eight years of war, and is now preparing to return to Rome. Back home, conservative patricians of the Senate  try to persuade Pompei Magnus that his friend and former student is becoming a threat. Meanwhile, two ordinary Roman soldiers plot a risky scheme that will tie their destinies to those of the high and mighty.

The Leftovers

Life in the small town of Mapleton, N.Y., was perfectly normal. People went to work, school, and did their shopping just like everybody else. One day, a sudden unexplainable tragedy struck. Two percent of the globe's population disappeared without a trace. Once the initial shock wore off, those left behind started trying to make sense of this new, unfamiliar world.

Five shows about love

Pride and Prejudice

Elizabeth Bennet is the second of five daughters of a country gentleman. And according to her mother, any young woman's ambition in life should be to find a wealthy husband. So when a dashing prosperous bachelor, Mr. Bingley, moves in next door, Mrs. Bennet sets out on a quest to see him married to one of her girls. Little does she know that her elaborate plotting will result in four marriages, one big family scandal, and one most unlikely romance between outspoken and independent Elizabeth and Mr. Bingley's friend, the rich and proud Mr. Darcy. Don't miss the famous lake scene!

5 shows with the most surprising finales

Broadchurch

On a hot July morning, an 11-year-old boy goes missing in the small town of Broadchurch. His body is later found on an idyllic beach. Local police officer Ellie Miller and an out-of-town Detective Inspector, Alec Hardy, have to untangle this mystery. Gradually, more members of the community of Broadchurch are drawn into the investigation. Only four members of the cast knew the answer, and even the actor who played the perpetrator found out about it only two weeks before shooting.

Sherlock

Intrigues, unexpected plot twists, strong male friendship, plus a dash of British humour — all of this amounts to a century-old recipe for success.

Wayward Pines

After getting into a car accident, Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke finds himself in a town called Wayward Pines. Ethan remembers that he's on a mission to find two FBI agents, who went missing in the area. But the deeper he digs, the more he is convinced that something strange and creepy is happening in Wayward Pines.

The Affair

Alison is a young waitress going through a rough patch in her life, Noah is a school teacher and would-be novelist, long-married with four kids.
