Not everyone likes to use vintage items in their home décor because modern design seems more appropriate to them. However, even old, second-hand items can make your house look stylish with a little effort and creativity.

The heroes of our article didn’t miss the opportunity to work unique vintage items into their home décor collection. At Bright Side, we admired their finds and had an immediate desire to visit a thrift store and dive into an atmosphere of the past.

“Our house still has all the original doorknobs from 1928.”

“I’ve been working on my eclectic vintage setup for a couple of months! I’m so proud of how it’s turned out so far.”

“I drove cross country to bring my great grandma’s kitchen table home with me. I love it so much!”

“Our most recent fun acquisition — a 1970s airport bench”

“I bought a vintage 1963 Drexel secretary with perfectly working tambour doors. Also cat approved.”

“I picked it up across the street before the garbage truck got to it!”

“I bought this vintage radio today. It looks perfect with my thrifted horse figure.”

Early TV design aesthetic: Let’s make this a gorgeous symphony of design.

Today’s TV design aesthetic: Let’s make this as much like a flat, black piece of paper as humanly possible.

The desk is wonderful, and it looks so good with this Bentwood chair!

“My old lamp sitting on top of my old radio sitting on top of my old dresser.”

“The gallery wall in our bedroom is full of antique store finds I’ve collected over the past few years.”

Renovation of an old auxiliary heater from the 1960s

“I scored this gem off my customer today. They said it was purchased in 1963. It’s like there was nothing ever cooked in it in the 60 years it has existed.”

“I just picked up the most ’90s alarm clock ever. It has a radio and will play 4 different tunes if you insert a floppy disk.”

“Mom gave me my bassinet from when I was born in 1979. I don’t have kids of my own but I found a way to display it!”

“I finally found a clock.”

It’s hard to believe that this home décor item was practically found in a dumpster.

Before and after: I pulled this beautiful piece of art out of an abandoned house.”

“It took me about 10 hours of heavy cleaning to get rid of 70 years of grease but it’s looking beautiful again and all the lights finally work.”
