17 Times Children Proved They Feel the World Differently

People say that children have a sixth sense that many lose as they grow up. That may be true, but maybe it’s just a lot of imagination. What is certain is that some little ones can scare their parents with such active minds. It’s impossible to know if what they say is true, but it’s a cool story to share with others.

  • When my daughter was 3, she suddenly started crying because she missed her grandparents. I told her not to worry, we would go visit them this weekend, but she replied, “No, Mommy, I miss my other grandparents. I get sad when I remember the last time I saw them because my other mom didn’t love me, and I was living with them then. But one day, we went to the woods, and I got lost. It got dark, and it started getting cold. My grandparents couldn’t find me, and I cried in the cold. After that, I came here to live with you.”
She told this same story many times, and she cried every time. It was bizarre, but how she cried conveyed true sadness. She often said: “Don’t you love me?” © Liz Gallegos / Facebook
  • I rented a house in the country. It was huge; I got goosebumps every time I walked by the dining room. That was until my three-year-old son told me that he was talking to a man, and the man was asking him to get out of there. He would always tell me that the master of the house wanted us to leave. © María Vázquez / Facebook
  • I have seen things since I was a child. However, when I talked about them, everyone laughed. Because of that, I stopped telling what I see and feel. I only discuss it with my husband and daughter. My husband doesn’t see or feel anything. He doesn’t believe in anything.
On the other hand, my daughter does see and feel things, just like me. Here’s an interesting story about something that happened to the both of us: one afternoon, we were sitting in the living room.
Suddenly, I heard something. I asked my daughter if she heard anything, and she said she did. I asked her what she heard, and she answered, “My daddy’s boots.” That was the same thing I had heard and felt, the sound of my husband’s boots when he comes into the house and steps on the driveway. © Jaqueline Martínez / Facebook
  • My daughters have slept alone since they were babies, each in their own room. A few years ago, we rented a 2-story house, and my youngest daughter, who was 2 then, wouldn’t even dare go to bed alone. She wouldn’t even go into her room but would cry all night, so we had to sleep with her. We mistook her behavior for a tantrum until we realized she’d start sweating when the thought of being left alone crossed her mind.
One day, I sent her to her room to get a toy, and I was almost dumbfounded when I saw her happily run out in there. But as she was about to go in, she suddenly stopped and started backing away, terrified to the point of crying. It was as if she had seen “something” and that “something” would not allow her to go in. I grabbed my little girl and arranged to leave that place with my husband and daughters. © Luisa Mariana Vinasco / Facebook
  • I have a relative who had an imaginary friend when she was young. She would spend all day playing and talking to “her.” She even had a name: Diana. Once, I paid her a visit. As I was about to sit on the sofa, she said, “Not there! My friend’s sitting there; can’t you see her?”
Her mother and I looked at each other without saying anything. I asked the girl, “So, where should I sit?” She said, “Well, right there, next to my friend.” Her mother asked the pediatrician what was happening to her, and he just said children have very active imaginations. © Carmen Sorbas Alvarez / Facebook
  • My 2-year-old son often points with his little finger and outstretched arm toward the curtains in the room. When he does that, I ask him, “What’s there?” And he says, “The baby girl, mom.” I then ask, “Is there a baby in there?” and he always says, “Yes.” © Mila Sanchez / Facebook
  • My daughter came to visit, and we were saying goodbye. About 5 minutes later, my 5-year-old grandson (from another daughter) said, “Mom, my aunt just crashed.” We laughed, but the phone rang, and his aunt said she had just had an accident.
We asked my grandson, “How did you know?” He replied, “I saw it.” We were four blocks away and already inside the house. © Mana Gonzalez / Facebook
  • My 4-year-old daughter often speaks about things that happened to her when “she was old,” as if she had a past life. She says she used to buy dolls for me when I was a child, just like I do for her. “I bought you a Barbie,” she says. I remember my grandmother buying one for me. I’m not sure if it’s true, but I like when she says it. © Sandra Gil Gonzalez / Facebook
  • I experienced something strange when I was 5. I saw something in my grandmother’s yard, but when everyone went there to see what it was, they couldn’t see anything. All my childhood, I had nightmares and woke the neighbors screaming. I used to hear a woman’s voice, but I didn’t understand her language. There was a smell of wood that I even felt when I was awake now and then.
As an adult, I saw a girl standing in front of my room. When I went out, I asked my mother if she saw her too because I thought it might be a neighbor. But she said she hadn’t seen anyone.
When my daughter was 2, we were on the balcony in a rocking chair. She would look up at the ceiling and say, “Mom, there she is, there she is,” and point up. I never saw anything. Then, until she turned 5, she had a lot of nightmares. © Susana Meléndez / Facebook
  • When my daughter, who is now 16, was about 4, we slept on the same bed. Suddenly, she woke up and said, “Mom, did you see that?” I replied, “See what?” and she looked at me and said, “Nothing.” I stayed awake all night while she slept peacefully. © Amanda Pérez Juan / Facebook
  • My son told us again that “his planet” had many colors: red, green, yellow, and many more. He looked me in the eye and said, “Mommy, you didn’t bear a son, I came to be with you.” I just smiled at him. Now I can’t help but wonder if I’m so special for people from another planet to come and be with me. © Pia Madariaga / Facebook
  • My 4-year-old daughter has a teddy bear that my mom’s grandmother gave her. My little girl used it to sleep, play, go to the bathroom, to go everywhere. One day, she was holding the bear and told me that it could move by itself and that she didn’t want to see it anymore.
Some other time, she told me that she was going to sleep on the couch and not with me because her grandmother, who had passed away, was there. She said Grandma Angela would scold her while pointing at her picture. © Katherine Hernández González / Facebook
