I am 25 now. I never encounter any of these problems. Guess my community really good to me.
I never encountered this kind of first world problem. With or without makeup, it's all about your attitude.
Lol!!! I don't care how others treat me, that's their problem and I don't have to deal with that negative impact!!
Until I was in my 30's, I wouldn't have left my home for a gallon of milk at 6am, without my face on. But here's the deal, for me my value was wrapped up in how different I was perceived as being, makeup vs none... And it truly ate away at my self worth.... I stopped wearing makeup sometime around 35, I turn 50 this June, and the only time I wear makeup, is when I choose to, because I want to. I am the same woman, with or without it... And once I KNEW that? It didn't matter what others thought....
I've always wore makeup. I'm very pale and I just got exhausted of people asking me if I was sick. But my story is I was in the car with my 10 year old daughter And my car broke down. And it was early early in the morning and I had not put on any makeup. So I got out was looking at my car and I really didn't think about it, but nobody was stopping to help me. And then it hit me. And I got in the car and I apologize to my daughter for what she was about to see but I got my bag of makeup out and I put makeup on and I got back and 2 separate trucks stop to help me.
I can't believe this happened to you. People shouldn't be this way. Why wouldn't they stop to help someone in a situation like yours? It's unbelievable that you had to put on some makeup to be more "easy to help". My mom is also very pale and she's never worn any makeup, not that I remember, and she still looks amazing. We had a situation like this a few years ago. We went for a trip to the beach and on our way back the car broke, I was kind of little so I don't remember what happened to it. The thing is that a few minutes after one car stopped by and helped us. I'll always remember the man who helped my mom because we share the same name. He was our Guardian Angel.
I wear makeup all of the time. People tell me that I would look so much better without it. However, I love makeup. It gives me the ability to change up my look on a daily basis. I feel in total control of how I want to look.
I turned 58 today. As a birthday present to myself, I had my hair dyed purple and purchased 1K worth of makeup and skincare from Sephora.
You look amazing!! 😍
Good for you
I feel the same way!
No Black women representation??
Black women look amazing with or without makeup. They can pull of all colours that others cannot!
Makeup is amazing. If a man feels that way well it’s time for a new man. Your body your face your choice. 🤷🏼♀️
I get treated differently for wearing make up by other women. I started studying last year and when somebody didn't know my name properly yet they'd call me "the pretty one in makeup" . My past career has been working in hair and beauty so I'm used to doing my hair and makeup everyday but don't expect to be judged for it just because others do not. I think self expression is beautiful and tells the world that we are all individuals. I would love to go to class without makeup and my hair a mess but I would feel self conscious and not myself. .....U do u and I'll do me!!!
I have acne-prone skin and I had pimples since I was 10 and it never really improved until maybe 4 years ago (I'm 25 now).. So make-up was a game-changer for me to feel confident! I always thought I looked too different with make-up and I was always hiding my naked face but one time while having this crazy break-out, I decided to post a selfie of it on my profile with a long caption with my real feeling, my journey with acne & make-up! And it was so powerful to see how many girls shared the same feelings & experience! I started to feel more confident & I feel like an open book now as I've been going out with my no make-up face & shared too many naked-face selfies haha, all my friends say I look exactly like my photo or my full make up face.. I guess if we feel good with how we look, people start to see the same too you know?
I leared 2 things: pimples do get better they do go away when we think positively & take care of our skins omg thanks God! And I won't stop putting on make-up because it's so fun & it's such an art - it's more than just covering our scars right?
