Secret ingredients of a long life
Bernando LaPallo was born in 1901 and died in 2015. He gave credit for his long life to healthy eating. “People ask me what do you do to stay so young,” said LaPallo. “I say, ’Well you’ve heard the old saying, you are what you eat.’”
His everyday menu contained a lot of organic vegetables and fruit. But there were 5 special foods he believed were the key ingredients. And we are going to reveal what they are below.
The queen of spices — cinnamon
Cinnamon is not only a delicious spice. It is also known for its powerful medicinal properties. It is really helpful in dealing with cancer, heart disease, and bacterial and fungal infections. It can also help in fighting the HIV virus.
A gift from heaven — chocolate
Eating chocolate can also contribute to our health. This food has a variety of positive impacts, from lowering cholesterol levels to preventing cognitive decline and helping us to overcome stress. So if you ignore this delicious masterpiece for the sake of your physique, here is a good reason to delete it from your “Forbidden-to-Eat” list of products.
A natural antibiotic — garlic
Garlic is known to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, lower the risk of heart failure, detox the body, and combat different illnesses. We believe that if you do not like garlic yet, you will want to load up your kitchen with it after reading all the proven benefits it has to offer.
A remedy for all diseases — honey
This wonderful bee-made product has been used in medicine for more than 5,000 years. It is a natural healing remedy for lots of conditions and is known for its antiseptic, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties. Additionally, some people use it for cosmetic purposes.
The oil of life — olive oil
According to experts, extra virgin olive oil is good for us as well. It is rich in healthy, monounsaturated fats that keep our brain and heart healthy. Moreover, olive oil positively impacts cognitive functions, contains large amounts of antioxidants, and may reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and cancer. We believe that these facts are enough to replace any seed oil with olive oil.
Some other tips from Bernando LaPallo
Bernando LaPallo confirmed that he had never been sick a day of his life. Apart from eating the foods above, he followed his father’s advice. “He told me not to eat ordinary red meat. He said stay away from it. Hot dogs, french fries and all those things — don’t eat it.”
Some other healthy habits he had included walking in the morning, playing checkers, and solving crossword puzzles. They helped Bernando have a clear mind and stay active. “I can remember things my father told me when I was 8 years old,” he used to say.
