How to Get Rid of Your Stuffy Nose in Just 15 Minutes

Anyone who has ever had a stuffy nose will agree that it’s better to get rid of this feeling as soon as possible.

Bright Side collected some tips on how to do it quickly with long-lasting effects.

6. Massage the point between your eyebrows.

Massage it gently but confidently for a minute.

This massage influences the nasal mucosa:

  • it prevents the dryness and inflammation of the sinuses;
  • it has a preventive effect;
  • it reduces pressure in the frontal sinuses.

5. Massage the nasal sinuses.

Make circular movements in the area of the wings of your nose for 1-2 minutes with your index and middle fingers, gently pushing. This procedure will help to open the nasal passages, and it will be much easier to blow your nose.

4. Massage the point between your nose and lip.

Massage the point between your upper lip and nose with gentle movements for 2-3 minutes. This trick will help to remove swelling in your nose.

3. Use an air humidifier.

When the air humidity is less than 40%, the mucus in your nose dries up and interferes with free breathing. If there’s already too much mucus and the humidity is low, severe bacterial complications can develop. The optimum moisture content is from 40% to 60%.

2. Warm up the bridge of your nose.

Take a warm piece of cloth (you can warm it in the microwave or put it in hot water and squeeze it carefully). The compress shouldn’t be too hot, just at a comfortable temperature. Heat will make any mucus more liquid. After warming, blow your nose or wash it with saline.

1. If an allergy is the cause of the runny nose, work out.

When your heart rate is sufficiently increased and your body warms up, this has a good effect on the fluidization of the mucus in your nose, and it will be much easier to blow your nose. 15 minutes of physical activity will be enough to cope with an allergic rhinitis (if you avoid allergens).

Which of these methods will you try or do you have your own tricks?

This works on me when i have blocked nose, and also drinking a lot of water and inhaling the steam of a hot water with a little bit of salt helps me to breath well.
