I used to have a friend who was always comparing herself to other people. We had a serious talk about it and just like that she never did it again. People, more self-love!
When I was young I was very insecure and used to make fun of myself until one day my dad notice it and talked to me. I will never forget his words: "you should never allow yourself or others to make fun of you. You're not a clown. You're just like everybody else, and you deserve respect"
I knew someone who acts like that, has no responsibilities, has no respect, thought too good for doing ordinary things. First I thought it's attitudes, but then I know it just cause lack of abilities, and feeling too fancy to learning. That's how it stop growth
My ex best friend. It was so frustrating. At first, I was trying to calm her down and comfort her but then I realised that every time something good was about to happen to me or another friend she was going nuts. That is why finally she is my "ex" bf ;)
But how would you know if they're acting or they're really troubled?? :/ I am not sure. I believe that what friends are for, to take care of each other in the hard times.
I believe that is the whole point of this article, to learn how to separate manipulation from real feelings and get out of such toxic relationships. At the end, you end up being the victim :/
Moral of the story: No more toxic relationships. As soon as you got the first sign, get out of it ;)
Or, if you really like the person, why not to help them? Maybe it's worth the effort.. some people just need a helping hand
Meh.. I'm afraid it will take way too much time. Such people usually need a help of a good psychologist who can help them understand themselves and work on their character
This describes my mother exactly. She blames me for every bad mistake she has made since ive been born. Continues to make me feel bad about not doing things exactly when she wants it done. Manipulates me until it is done how and when and why she thinks it should be. This is confirmation that my mother has been toxic for me. Thank you all for sharing and thank you for this information. Has helped me to realize that this is her mental health issue, and that i can be okay to distance. Never wanted to just shut my own mother out of my life. This has shown me that if i don't, i will never get well mentally myself. Thank you again.
This describes a deeply hurt person. I know because I do all of these things and think about killing myself everyday due to how deeply flawed I am. Maybe an article on what to do about help for this would be a little more productive rather than highlighting what's wrong with everyone. I need help and so does every miserable person out there.
Well those who act like victims are hurt people. After all, a person who is happy inside will bring happiness to other people, and if one is unhappy that they can only send negative vibes :(
That's not true. I'm pretty negative and I still tell jokes and make people laugh. Your logic is warped.
Finally! A constructive comment .. I agree , the “victim” in this article is actually someone deeply hurt..
The easiest thing in the world is to dismiss someone's pain and forget about it. The most difficult thing is to help and truly care.
Please see my comment down below. Thanks.
John, one important component to your situation is that you have the self reflection get yourself out of this funk. Purge toxic individuals out if your life, learn about the three kinds of boundaries and the great things about no contact. A book I like a great deal is Psychopath Free by Jackson Mackenzie. Also check out youtubers Dr. Les Carter and Dr. Rumani and Rich Grannon. Please stop beating yourself up, nobody does that job better than our own selves. Therepy and meds are tools to help get us to where we want to be. Also look into any childhood trauma issues you may have had.
Best of luck my friend.
I have met such people so many times in my life but I have no idea how to deal with them at all
be polite, don't let them manipulate your emotions and don't stick around them for too long. Should help :)
Almost all of these statements relate to me, but all I can say is that I do truly hate myself, and it's not really my fault at this point. A mindset like mine is really hard to get outta, so be respectful.
I can feel you .. only those who goes through it or being there for someone they love that went through this will understand ...
That describe me a lot😌😌😌😌
