6 Things That Are Luckily Vanishing in the Modern World

Curiosities
year ago

There are many kinds of discrimination in our society and we aren’t able to change everything at once. But, some things have changed, or at least are in the process of changing. And this change is how we know that we have the power.

1. Women can be good wives and mothers and still work on the same level with men.

2. People with tattoos get them because they like them.

3. No more fashion standards, because we recognize all shapes and body sizes.

4. Only you can decide when all the important things should happen in your life.

5. The household is not just a female business anymore.

6. No one is too old or too young to be a professional.

Do you believe that it’s possible to eliminate discrimination in our society? Have you ever experienced this cruel injustice? You can share your opinion and stories in the comments.

Yess.. definitely all things have changed, and society is getting better and being more understanding.. only a few pages like this one still keep promoting unsupportive illustrations and such rather than helpful and and uplifting ones.. to give people an ammunition for creating controversies and keep pulling the individuals back to 1800's (i know some are gonna come at me for being critical, but what people see.. does make a deeper impact on the brains than what they read!! ?)

OMG Karen, why have you deleted this comment?

Many things are still changing in the society and many still have to change.People have to understand each other and they should be able to express themselves because then only others will respect and understand them(specially when they are overweight and dark skinned). So we should learn to respect and except each other as we

all are "GOD'S CREATION"!!!!!

Wait, do you mean people should understand overweight and black people? If that's the case, for overweight people if they keep stuffing their faces then they'll die of a heart attack... Or lose a limb, faint easier, all in all a general nuisance... Even if God did create us, he certainly didn't create you to treat your body like a trashcan... And we have to have more understanding towards blacks? Seriously? Like the segragation period is over, full rights, treated as normal citizens (maybe with some extra sweets). So what more do they need?

This comment space is on lease.

Certain races still have disadvantages and discrimination against them although I do agree that we shouldn’t encourage overweight people to just think it’s okay. You shouldn’t body shame anybody, obviously, but encouraging people to be unhealthy is also wrong.

Yes, in Nigeria it's not easy working most especially in lagos if you are from North or hausa speaking person in fact you hardly get a job if your CV has Northern state as a state of origin even if you are lucky and secure the job the discrimination is there and it kills self esteem and even reduce one's productivity.

I didn't know that people laughed at physical disabilities, I thought they only laughed at mental disabilities.

Times have changed, but these problems are still very bad and not full force but still bad. People are still sexist, racist, etc. People still bodyshame and make fun of disabilities.

I see that, even in the 21st Century, garbage like this is still reinforcing the idea that women are supposed to get married and have kids and 'apparently' this is seen as some kind of aspirational milestone. What a load of old b*llocks
