When people say that "before people didn't have illnesses like this, nobody suffered from it when I was young, it's all your technical progress" I laugh. People has the same illnesses, even worse, just there were not much studies done in that topic, and medicine wasn't developed enough to recognize some problems in human bodies.
In all honesty, people don't realise that we live a luxurious life in our time, even though there's still a lot of bullshit regarding the Middle East and rising tension among superpowers, what I'm trying to say is not everything is peachy, but we don't have to worry about disease and famine in developed countries. If those people you talk about would volunteer in some impoverished country they'd change their tune.
Agree, I don't like when people start complaining and saying that everything was easier, healthier and better back in the days. I really don't think so, with the poor knowledge of medicine and not developed yet technology it was way harder than today.
They also like to say that people didn't have mental illnesses back in the day, which is not true. Anyone who had something "out of the norm" was just put into mental hospital, where were literally no turning back, and they didn't even try to study it.
I can't roll my eyes any further when people say that back in the days women had an easy life, no duties, but only taking care of their children.
The duties what women had were bigger and harder: home, children, cook, take care of husband and praise, be beautiful, work if possible, plus pressure from the society.
