Man Saves Woman’s Life Thanks to Binge-Watching “The Office”

On average, American adults watch television for 5 hours and 4 minutes per day. Yes, it is probably not that healthy, but there are 2 sides of every coin. And our hero Crossley Scott has proven that watching sitcoms can save a life.

We at Bright Side are sharing this amazing story of saving a woman’s life that will touch your heart too.

Crossley Scott is a 21-year-old guy who works in Tucson at an auto service station. He was test-driving a customer’s car, when he noticed a sedan with the hazards on. Scott immediately ran to the car to see if he could help and saw a woman not breathing.

Fortunately, Crossley Scott is a guy who can’t just stand by and watch. He took action right away to assist the lady, whose name was Claire.

He banged on the window to try to wake the woman up, but there was no response. Scott realized that he needed to get inside of the car somehow. So he used a rock to smash the window. 2 women nearby saw what was going on and pulled up to the scene in case they could help. Scott immediately told them to call 911.

Everything happened so fast. The young man unlocked the door and took the woman’s pulse. She was not breathing. Scott had never had any medical training, but our memory in an emergency pulls the necessary information from deep down in our subconscious. And that’s what happened here!

Scott memorized cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training from one of the episodes of the TV sitcom The Office.

In that episode, a muffler shop owner, played by Steve Carell, performed chest compressions on a dummy and sang “Stayin’ Alive.” So Scott repeated everything exactly how it was in the sitcom and brought Claire back to life. That little CPR he had learned from The Office had worked perfectly!

Now Claire is doing well. Happily, she made a complete recovery at the hospital and has already thanked Crossley Scott for his heroic assistance.
