I have to take supplemental vitamin d daily due to a genetic inability to absorb it properly. I can attest to issues not having it. I was much weaker and we initially did testing for auto immune disorders, doctor was leaning towards lyme’s disease. I take half of what I did at first and some of the mood-based deficiency side effects are there and once solved life-long nail biting urges(caused by the deficiency) are back. My doctor retired and the next doctor says my levels are decent. It is harder than you think with some supplements. I have a severe food allergy and other issues that prevent adequate food-based vitamin d and calcium (which work together.)There are also necessary types of food that help supplements absorb as well. This article was very interesting, thank you.
