It feels like you've made this article before, but I read this nonetheless. Loved it, because people (in my country that is) think that if you go to a psychologist, you're insane! So, whenever I read these kinds of articles, I feel happy, cause I know I'm not insane xD Oh, and to answer your question about what rechargers my inner batteries, well a shower helps me in that regard xD And most physical activities, but swimming helps the most. Guess I should've been born as a fish xD
Yeah even I relate to you 100% a shower gives me lot many ideas and solutions and swimming has always been my childhood love so it helps me relax like anything.
It’s good to know there are people like me.....:)
Due to this article we are all in one way or the other just "ill". I don't like articles like this, it makes people even more insecure as they already are. Alone the title "Why the World Sees Less and Less “Normal” People These Days" is just begging for clicks and NO useful help for anybody.
The article starts with a stupid statement: "Traits that were attributed to a bad temper are now considered part of a mental disorder or a sign of a disease." .... WHAT??? Just because I'm in a bad mood or I don't have the temper other people expect me to have, I have a mental disorder and need a doctor?!? Are you kidding me?? If this crap would be true, half of the entire world population would need treatment and we would need thousands of more psychologists. So you can artificially enlarge a professional group and keep alive. The media that want to persuade people don't stop at nothing. They know exactly that there are too many people who listen to them under the motto: "It has been in the newspaper so it must be true." Bullsh*t!!
It goes straight on in the text.... WHY the hell does my child need a doctor if he/she is "building a tower of blocks following a certain color pattern" ?? You drive parents crazy with BS like that, they will observe their kids instead of playing completely at ease with them. Is there anybody who has a slight idea what this means?? And please don't tell me that some experts said so, experts often fail more than "normal" people!!!
Yes, there is something like Autism, but the reason isn't vaccinations and there are very different kinds of disorders under the generic term autism. Why is Autism getting more and more?? Again - BS! It's not getting more, but the media is talking and writing more about it. If experts diagnosed all terms of Autism, why do they suddenly change the definition of the disease??
Oh, I hear someone answer "because they have learned" !! Hahahaha, great answer, but from whom did he learn? From the next expert, from where did he get his wisdom? Every single expert thinks he is smarter than the next one, and so such definitions come about.
Are we not allowed to have ANY emotions without anybody telling us we have a disorder?? "Anger is considered to be as dangerous as depression....." , are you taking every worst case and reporting about them?? People do not all become killers when they get angry, but that's what the text sounds like. Sure, it happens that someone freaks out in anger and does something, but that's not the majority. And all the people who are angry at times do not all fall into depression. Which expert has unloaded his "hazardous junk" here once more?
34% of humanity has mental disorders without symptoms [FACEPALM] .... I rather believe that 90% of the experts have mental disorders (well, they have to earn their living somehow) and the media support them.
It is really frightening to read that more than 29 million people have allegedly been treated for any mental disorders in 2011 (again, a number that no one can verify and is simply claimed by the media). Most of all, it is terrifying because they give the disorders fancy diagnostic names that sound important and interesting.
Cyberchondria, Peladophobia and Caligynephobia - and there they are again, the experts !! Do you wonder that something like "Cyberchondria" is even possible? And there THEY are again, the media scribblers who spread everything on the internet just to make money.
Phobias have been around forever, but the more there is written about it, the more people suddenly "suffer" from it. It used to be called a "quirk", nowadays it's called a mental illness (the doctors also want to make money). I do not want to go into more detail about the "phobias", they are too many.
"Other modern phenomena that can destroy us from within" - next round BS: The experts also paint the world as they need it, whether realistic or not. Children are children and look a lot off other children, but if that is always to the advantage, I doubt. Sometimes external circumstances do not allow children to play or deal with other children, but the experts do not ask about that and only give the parents a bad conscience. And already new patients have been created for a treatment.
"Infidelity causes psychological trauma" .... Oh come on, spread some tears, have a little heart pain and get over it. The world is not going to fall in pieces, other mothers have nice children (to marry) too. This whole statement is too stupid to comment.
"Obesity is a more common issue than hunger today." - Scribblers, Scribblers, Scribblers on the media about fashion and ideal figures. They make me sick. The most disgusting words about this theme I have ever heard came from Karl Lagerfeld. He really did say in an interview: "Only a model with Anorexie is a good model". I would have loved to slap him in the face for that!!!
Okay, obesity is not healthy but the scribblers are not very helpful with daily different news and different advices. JUST STOP IT!!!
"Social media doesn't make us closer, it makes us feel isolated" , the next BS. If people felt so isolated using the social media there wouldn't be so many "places" to go. Most people love to share their lives with the "whole" world (no matter what we all think about some crazy things). I think "only if they correspond to common norms" is completely wrong, the opposite makes more sense. People in social media can be what they want to be and not what they really are.
"City noise shortens our lives" - why don't we all just move to the countryside? Can experts just say something constructive and not only blablabla, tell us how to manage the life better in the city with the noise and not things we already have read thousands of times without being able to change the "way it is"?? Maybe ear plugs so we don't have to listen to you either??
"What can we do?" - I'm not going to comment the conclusions, everybody who has read my answer to the article can make his own. I think you are all "smart" enough to understand what I tried to say. Just use your common sense ... and
DON'T LISTEN SO MUCH TO SO CALLED EXPERTS !!
*cracks knuckles* Alright, time to say something about your long comment. I don't disagree with all of your points, but certainly a good bit of them. Ok
First off, of course they want to generate clicks, they have to make a living, but that's why the " is there. People who seek help about their phobia are considered insane (in my country that is) or those who seek a psychologist.
If you start flaying your arms around, and saying you're going to kill everyone, then there's something not quite right with you. Or, if you start crying for no reason at all, or start zoning out of existence (simply put, you look at your wall without moving, thinking, and barely breathing) well... I needn't say more.
Agreed that people need to feel emotions. Happiness, Sadness, Anger... But the fact is, you can go to a psychologist to understand how to control it. Just to be safe, for your own well-being
Really, I think that the 34% is kind of what I expect. People had mental disorders before, visions, or sadistic intentions. And some of them were seen as prophets. But by reading what you just said, I feel a "small" distaste towards mental health workers.
Didn't they leave a link or something to those 29 million?
Doubt media has anything to do with how phobias are named.
It's kinda like anxiety, people think that because they feel it, they think they're mentally ill, so I kinda agree with you.
Not sure where you went with that sentiment, if you can explain it a bit better, I'd be grateful.
My parents divorced when I was 11, I won't go into too many details, but let's just say my father isn't right in the head... And it affected me in more ways that you can imagine. I didn't have a hard life, but there were a lot of times where I felt hopeless, but moved on. The problem is, not many people can do that, or know how to do it. Be a bit considerate of others, put yourself in their shoes.
A lot of Americans are obese, so is the UK. Obesity is a problem. And obesity isn't like, a few extra killos, but 100 killos for an average man, who has trouble walking, even breathing. And the way I understand it, a perfect body is a body that doesn't look like a pile of lard, or only skin and bones. People should take care of their health, and treat their body with respect. Gym, and healthy foods and all that. I mean why live 50 years with back aches and asthma, when you can live to 90 and still be agile as a 20 year old?
Social media isn't bad, it's actually terrific! I wouldn't be here trying to debunk your statements. But, overusage (as well as just right about anything) leads to a more, secluded, and lonely life. Sooo, everything in moderation. But social media is overused by many, sooooooo that's not gonna happen imo.
I can't stand loud noises, they make my head spin. And going to a forest or anywhere that's a bit quiet, is quite therapeutic. It doesn't say move to the country side, but rather peace and quiet is valuable, so visit a park, or a farm to get a little load off of your mind. Well, that's how I interpeted it.
Well I think that's about it, that was fun wasn't it? I'm not a psychologist, not even a social worker, but I know that psychologist are meant to help you get through some troubles, and to teach you how to cope with stress and emotions. Psychs are meant to help you, before it's too late. Oh, and if you're a social health worker, I'd love to know where you hail from, cause Christ, you hold quite a resentment towards them xD
