Trends usually come and go, but the one of remaking your old pictures is here to stay. Seeing our older selves in a “then vs now” collage can send us down a nostalgic memory lane. Celebs have decided to show off their skills in recreating classic scenes and inspired us to give iconic movies another watch.

There’s something so cozy and familiar about a comparison of the past and present, and Bright Side is curious about which of these movies you’ve never seen before.

1. Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner

Ruffalo and Garner have recently wrapped up The Adam Project, whose plot revolves around time travel. For the promotion of it, the couple recreated an emblematic scene from the movie, 13 Going on 30. Despite the almost 20-year difference between the pictures, it looks like time stood still for the actors.

2. Uma Thurman, John Travolta, and Samuel L. Jackson

Pulp Fiction was released almost 30 years ago and will always be considered a classic. One of the most famous dance scenes in movie history is the one where Thurman and Travolta showed off their dance moves in front of an audience. In 2022, during the Oscars, the actors recreated the scene, with Samuel L. Jackson joining in and making the trio complete again.

3. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill

In 2014, Jonah Hill hosted the show Saturday Night Live, and during his opening monologue, he had a special guest, Leonardo DiCaprio himself. DiCaprio affectionately hugged Hill, and they started reenacting the unforgettable Titanic scene. Hill took on the role of Rose and asked, “Am I flying, Jack?” to which DiCaprio responded, “Yes, Rose, yes, you’re flying.” The audience loved it and laughs were scattered all around.

4. Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino

25 years after Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino starred in Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, the two actresses publicly reunited at the 2022 SAG Awards. The ladies donned matching suits in the same color scheme as their famous characters.

5. Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington is most known for her smashing role of Olivia Pope in the TV show, Scandal, and she and Reese Witherspoon have a special bond. For Witherspoon’s birthday, Washington didn’t hold back and had a special surprise for her on-screen partner from Little Fires Everywhere. She recreated the iconic Legally Blonde scene and, if we might say so, she did it flawlessly.

6. Catherine O’Hara

In the all-time favorite Christmas movie, Home Alone, Kevin’s mother, played by Catherine O’Hara, realizes they forgot the kid at home, and she lets out an iconic scream. As a tribute to the late filmmaker, writer, and director John Hughes, the actress joined other big names in the industry and recreated memorable scenes from some of his most notable movies.

7. Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller

Fun fact: Robert DeNiro was in love with the family cat, “Mr. Jinx,” from the film, Meet the Parents, so much so that he wanted her to be present in more scenes than originally written. DeNiro and Ben Stiller had a guest appearance on SNL and they recreated the famous “lie detector” scene while both of them tried to keep a straight face.

8. The Spider-Man trio

The animated series, which was created in the ’60s, Spider-Man, has gained “meme status.” In cinemas, the Marvel superhero was played by Tobey Maguire in 2002, by Andrew Garfield in 2012, and in recent years, Tom Holland took on the memorable role. The 3 actors reunited and gave the people what they wanted by recreating the famous meme and, at the same time, shook the Internet and went viral.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s bond has stood the test of time, with their friendship spanning over 23 years. Their camaraderie began on the set of “Titanic” in 1996, where they portrayed a convincing on-screen romance. Despite rumors, they’ve maintained a strictly platonic relationship, supporting each other through personal challenges and professional milestones. Winslet has often credited DiCaprio for boosting her self-esteem during their initial collaboration.
