After the massive success of The Mummy and at the peak of his popularity, Brendan suddenly disappeared from Hollywood. He hasn’t been seen onscreen in a big role for years. To fans’ delight, he has a new movie set to release this year and the whole internet is rooting for him!

Bright Side is glad to share some details of the movie and a sneak peek of Fraser’s look with our fans.

Produced by A24, the upcoming drama, The Whale, follows a father who is trying to reconnect with his 17-year-old estranged daughter and improve their relationship. He is an English teacher who suffers from “extreme obesity.”

Fraser’s praiseworthy commitment to the role

As you may have guessed, Brendan is playing the role of the father and for the part, he had to gain weight. In the movie, the character reportedly weighs 600 lbs (272 kgs).

“It’s gonna be like something you haven’t seen before,” Fraser revealed in an interview. “The wardrobe and costume were extensive, seamless, cumbersome. This is certainly far removed from anything I’ve ever done.”

In addition to Fraser, Stranger Things Sadie Sink is also a part of the movie and will be playing the role of his daughter. Other actors include Hong Chau, Ty Simpkins, and Samantha Morton. The movie is set to premiere at the 2022 Venice Film Festival. The release date is currently unknown.
