The world of Hollywood and fame can look like something very strange and distant to ordinary people, but we can’t forget that celebrities are also regular people, just like us. A lot of them don’t let all the fame and money get to their heads, but instead, they use their “power” for good and to help those in need. What’s even better is that they teach their children to be kind at heart too.
Bright Side would like to introduce you to 10 children of celebrities who definitely take after their parents when it comes to caring for and helping other people.
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have most definitely raised a great son; as the actor and rapper, Jaden Smith, has been fighting the battle against homelessness. Jaden is opening a restaurant called I Love You that will allow homeless people to eat healthily for free.
To further prove our point of how great he is, he spent his twenty-first birthday feeding the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles with his vegan food truck of the same name. He is an example of great parenting that has shaped someone so young, influencing him to expand his business venture to be able to take care of a lot more people who are often ignored by others.
Save With Stories is a charitable initiative that partnered with the charities, Save The Children and No Kid Hungry, in order to raise money for vulnerable children. A lot of celebrities, including Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, appeared on the story-telling series, where they read children’s books out loud for kids in self-isolation.
According to Kaia, in these times of need, it’s important to find momentary happiness and to come together as a community to help those in need.
Stephen Baldwin’s daughter, Hailey Bieber, was one of the many celebrities who promoted the Fyre Festival, and despite the event not delivering on its promises, Hailey did. She generously donated all the money she earned from it to charity.
This is not the only charitable work of hers though. She and her husband, Justin Bieber, hosted a charity art event to promote art education in underprivileged communities. She also took part in a fundraiser through Unicef for children in need of medical attention, clean water, food, and education.
Sean Penn’s daughter, Dylan, supported her dad’s charity at the 2018 Sean Penn & Friends Haiti Rising Gala, where $4 million dollars were raised for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization.
Prince Harry had a charitable race against Alexander Skarsgård across Antarctica for the Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge. He and his wife, Meghan Markle, are also the founders of the Archewell foundation that drives systemic cultural change. Their work uplifts local and global communities, and they just announced that they’re building a community relief center in India.
Prince Harry also spent some time in Africa, planting trees in Chobe National Park with 200 children from local primary schools.
Everybody knows Tom Hanks, however, not many know that one of his sons, Colin, is a lot like his dad when it comes to being a good human. His company, Hanks Kerchiefs, donated a percentage of their proceeds to INARA and War Child USA. Colin also posted on Twitter, asking his followers for charities he could partner up with.
Jon Voight’s daughter, Angelina Jolie, is yet another celebrity with a heart of gold. Just like Ben Stiller, she was a UN Refugee Agency ambassador until 2012, when she was appointed Special Envoy, and she’s been visiting refugee camps and helping people in need ever since she was in her early twenties. She and Stella McCartney launched the Draw Me To Safety campaign alongside War Child UK, which helps children in war-torn countries.
She also has her own foundation, the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which aims to end poverty, improve healthcare and education, and protect the environment in the country of Cambodia. Her charity work has helped change the lives of over 15,000 children in the country.
Mick Jagger’s daughter, Georgia May, cares about our planet, as she’s an ambassador for Project Zero, a global movement backed by scientists, activists, business leaders, and ocean experts who are set on saving our oceans.
She also advocates for equal rights and women’s rights.
Kurt Russell might not be Kate Hudson’s biological father, but she considers him a father figure. And we can wholeheartedly say that he’s done a good job raising Kate because she’s not just successful, but she also cares about people.
Ben Stiller most definitely has a heart of gold, and his charitable work speaks for itself. He has his own foundation that gives children the opportunity to receive an education. He has also supported the UN Refugee Agency since 2016, has supported many of their projects and campaigns, and has used his voice to advocate for refugee rights.
In an Instagram post, the actor shared that the refugees he met through the work of the UN Refugee Agency are often on his mind. He praises their strength, perseverance, and the hope they’ve held on to.
