Whenever I was feeling sad during my childhood, my granny would say, ’Be like a cat because everything is in your paws.’ @Overhear

So, I came home to visit my parents and my granny lives with them. She has been bedridden for almost 3 years. One night when my parents went out, I stayed home with her and somebody knocked at the door. When I opened it, I saw an old man with an accordion. He asked, ’How is Katy?’ (my granny) Tell her that Jason came to sing songs under her window." He has literally been doing it for an hour. Granny was listening and smiling — apparently, he was her first love. @Overhear

My granny was very strict and greedy. Once when our boiler broke down, she borrowed one from her neighbor. I turned it on to boil water but it also wasn’t working. My granny decided that I broke it and started to shout, then she grabbed the boiler and started to chase me. When she finally caught me, she beat me with the boiler. Later we found out that the power had simply gone out. @Overhear

Today I was looking at old photos of my great-grandparents, I saw my grandfather in a black leather cloak and my hands started to tremble and tears came to my eyes. I remembered the love story of my great-grandparents. At the age of 20, my granny decided to read her fortune with a mirror and her friends. When her turn came, my grandmother said she saw a man in a black cloak, got frightened, and stopped trying to read her fortune. A couple of months later, while walking down the street she saw a tall man in a black cloak and got frightened, but the man came up to her to introduce himself — it was my grandfather. Soon the war started and he was taken to the frontline — while saying goodbye to my granny he told her: “If I stay alive, I’ll find you and marry you.” He found her. @Overhear

In childhood, my grandmother used to pour milk from a three-liter jar into a small mug in one movement — not spilling a drop. This seemed like the world’s greatest human superpower to me at the time. @Overhear

“My grandma got a fidget spinner for her 85th birthday and look how happy she is!”

My friend is very proud that he is a 3rd generation, native citizen of Moscow. His mom loves telling the story of how they ended up there: his granny was on her way to Saint-Petersburg from Tambov and had to stay in Moscow because she didn’t have enough money to reach her final destination. @Overhear

“Found photos of my grandmother’s cousin hanging with his buddy while cleaning out a storage locker.”

“My grandmother pins cat hair to trees so birds can make luxury nests.”

I bought a satellite dish for my granny and decided to install it myself. For 20 minutes I had been trying to catch the right signal and failed. Granny told me I can’t do anything right and hit the dish with a wooden mop, right then, it started to work. @Overhear

My mom gave my granny a flip phone. Since then my granny never says goodbye at the end of conversations but abruptly closes the phone a la ’The conversation is finished, amigo.’ @Overhear
