Prepare yourself for a major trip to ancient times. We’re about to see great-grandparents in the late 1800s all the way up to parents hanging around in the 1970s. But looking back at some old photos, we can’t help but notice how much older people used to look for their age.

To prove our theory, Bright Side gathered a handful of vintage photos with people who look much older than they actually are.

1. “This was my 18-year-old grandmother in 1945. She was awesome, and I miss her very much.”

4. “Here are my parents in Paris in 1956. They were in their very early twenties at the time.”

Ha. Maybe this explains why highschoolers in movies and tv series are often played by twentysomethings who look like twentysomethings. Because boomers are used to seeing mature faces
