Jamie Lee Curtis won an Oscar for her supporting performance in the movie, Everything Everywhere All At Once. Her love for acting, inherited from her famous parents, stayed with her until the moment of her award acceptance, during which she paid tribute to them.

Her parents were nominated, but didn’t win.

Her parents, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, were involved in numerous films, namely The Defiant Ones and Psycho. The father was nominated for the leading role category in 1959, and her mother for the supporting role category in 1961. Neither of them won the award, but their daughter finally did.

Jamie Lee is proud to be their child.

In her speech, she mentioned her parents. “My mother and my father were both nominated for Oscars in different categories,” she said when she got tearful, and she continued by saying, “I just won an Oscar!”

After that, the Halloween star had an interview in the press room, where she was asked if she thought her parents were looking down on her and smiling. She answered, “I am a product of them, and I am a proud product of them, and they would be incredibly proud of me, of course.”

She also won it for “hundreds” of people.

She believes that winning the Oscar isn’t something that she should enjoy just for herself. She said, “I know it looks like I’m standing up here by myself, but I am not. I am hundreds of people,” to which she also dedicated this acceptance to the crew and cast of the movie, including Michelle Yeoh.

Jamie will be forever thankful for her “bae.”

During her acceptance speech, Jamie Lee thanked Michelle Yeoh too, whom she called her “bae.” The duo has a great friendship and showed support when they each won the award. In an interview with Variety, Jamie Lee also stated that Michelle Yeoh is the reason for her being in that position. “Michelle Yeoh is the reason that, for the rest of my life, you will say, ’Oscar-nominated actress Jamie Lee Curtis.’”
