7 Celebrities Who Chose to Stay Loyal to Their Favorite Outfits and Hit the Jackpot

Making a fashion statement on the red carpet is one of the pillars of any celebrity’s life. But with designers becoming increasingly creative, a guaranteed way to make a splash at any event is to repeat an outfit they’ve already been photographed in. Frankly, it makes us feel even closer to our favorite stars, so let’s see some of their favorite outfits that they’ve decided to shine in more than once.

1. Rebel Wilson 2020 vs 2023

Rebel Wilson took repeating an outfit to a new level when she showed up at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars party. The Pitch Perfect star, who recently lost 80 pounds, didn’t let her new figure stop her from re-wearing a gorgeous dress she wore 3 years before the Oscar ceremony. Rebel shined like a new penny in that gold gown, whether or not some tailoring was involved.

2. Cate Blanchett 2016 vs 2020

When Cate Blanchett first appeared in this gorgeous outfit in 2016, we thought it was a dress. However, after Blanchett wore it again, but with pants, 4 years later, we realized that the beautiful flower-embroidered piece was a top she could universally pair with anything and look breathtaking.

3. Jane Fonda 2014 vs 2020

We can see why Jane Fonda returned to this beautiful gown for her 2020 Oscar appearance. It hugs her curves perfectly and looked even better the second time around as Fonda’s grey hair contrasted it as opposed to her warm blonde in 2014. A note to ourselves: retry outfits whenever we change our hair color.

4. Helena Bonham Carter

The first time, Helena wore this gorgeous black and white number to the 2011 SAG Awards. The actress must’ve loved how she looked so much that she didn’t wait too long and dusted off the same dress to appear during the London Film Festival Opening Gala just a year later. We can’t even decide which time we liked Bonham’s appearance better.

5. Helen Mirren 2012 vs 2015

Sneaky Helen Mirren thought that changing cardigans would distract us from the fact that she’s worn the same dress twice, but we couldn’t possibly confuse that beautiful flowery number. Mirren first chose the dress to appear at the Hitchcock premiere in 2012, and 3 years later, she repurposed it for the 2015 premiere of Midsummer Night’s Dream.

6. Elizabeth Banks 2004 vs 2020

Elizabeth Banks boasted her toned physique at the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscars party by sporting the same elegant red dress she wore to the very same party 16 years prior. Banks even took to Instagram to confirm that the dress is recycled: “It’s gorgeous, and it fits...so why not wear it again?!”

7. Kate Middleton 2019 vs 2023

Kate might be royalty, but she’s best known as a recycling queen. Middleton repurposed her Alexander McQueen dress for the 2023 BAFTAs after first appearing in it at the same event but 4 years prior. This year, Kate opted for a statement piece in black gloves and replaced the flowers on her shoulder with a draping bow—a more daring look and possibly our favorite one the second time around.
