A Couple’s Gender Reveal Party Ends Up in Tears After a Cake Disaster

Gender reveal parties have become very popular lately. But this couple had a very unexpected end to their celebration, which left them speechless. One thing is for sure, this moment that left them with a mix of confusion, disbelief, and a sprinkle of humor will forever stay engraved in their minds as a bittersweet memory.

Not the color they expected

Alyssa and her husband Christian’s gender reveal was supposed to be a quiet and intimate affair between them both, but the unexpected turn of events made it into a viral video that has been watched by millions.

In fact, as they cut their white cake, the color of the filling inside was supposed to tell them if they were having a boy or a girl. But when the enamored duo simultaneously proceeded to dig into the dessert with glasses they were met with white frosting.

They got overwhelmed with emotion.

As they realized what was happening, Alyssa suddenly started to laugh, while Christian declared, ’’I think they gave us the wrong cake.’’

The mother-to-be shared that after the video stopped, she started to cry because her gender reveal party had turned into an unexpected failure, but she then ’’laughed it off.’’ Later on, the couple emailed the bakery and attached a photo of their all-white cake.

Second time was a success.

The sweets shop fixed their mistake and quickly sent them another cake, and the second-chance cutting process was also filmed and shared on TikTok.

In this clip, Alyssa noted, ’’I swear if it’s white this time, I’m going to be so mad.’’ Luckily, there weren’t any hurdles this time around, and the couple found out they were having a baby boy as they saw the blue frosting inside.

No hard feelings

And even though they’ve been through a roller-coaster of emotions, the duo isn’t angry at the bakery.

The young bride shared, ’’It was just an honest mistake. They were so apologetic about it, they made it right, they made me a new cake as soon as they could the next day, and they didn’t charge me for it.’’

Having said that, Alyssa explained that they didn’t get a refund for the first cake. She noted, ’’I didn’t get my money back for the first one, which I understand, but I also ate it because it tasted good.’’

The cake shop explained to her that the person who was in charge of making the dessert was ’’new’’ and ’’didn’t know’’ how to add colored icing to the cake.

Not everyone is as forgiving as this couple.

The lovebirds, who are over the moon to be welcoming a boy, have forgotten about this incident, but there were many people online who said they would be so mad if they had had to face the same situation.

One person wrote, ’’They wouldn’t refund you for this big moment in your life,’’ while another commented, ’’What’s crazy is it’s literally not about the cake. It’s about the experience, and they completely took that from you!’’
