9 Fashion Mistakes That Can Ruin Any Summer Outfit
It seems that it’s very easy to go outside in the summertime wearing something light. The warm months allow us to look awesome with very little effort. The most important thing is not to make the small but popular mistakes that can ruin even the most well-thought-out image.
We at Bright Side have collected 8 of the most popular mistakes we make when choosing clothes that should be avoided on summer days.
1. Transparent clothes
Transparent clothes look good only at the beach and as far as possible from an office. The only exception could be a transparent blouse and a beautiful bra with something subtle on the bottom for an evening out.
T-shirts, white shirts, an open back, and light denim require the least visible underwear. The ideal option is a seamless set in a nude color. The most important thing is to find the right type of bra so that the straps are not visible under your clothing. And yes, silicone straps are ugly.
If you are not going to the beach, you should forget about your favorite flip-flops and the same goes for boots. If your office dress code allows, you can wear leather sandals, loafers, or espadrilles.
And the most important rule: open shoes are ok only with a perfect pedicure. There is no other option.
Tights are a headache for anyone who works in an office. Strict dress codes often require women to cover their legs with hosiery. Those who work in places with more relaxed dress codes should forget about this layer in warm weather. Summer dresses and sandals with tights are inappropriate and look terrible.
5. Cleavage and a mini
No matter how warm it is, you should remember that either legs or cleavage can be exposed, but not both. This rule should never be broken, even when it’s hot and you want to wear as little as possible. And don’t forget that a mini with a deep V in the front or the back looks too “revealing” and leaves you no chance to make your image elegant.
6. Tight clothes
Tight clothes in the summer can be the reason you get overheated because of the lack of air circulation. This type of attire also shows wet armpits in the heat and reveals all the flaws on your body. If you don’t really want the “sauna effect,” you should say “no” to tight clothes. And it’s so great that oversize clothes are trendy again.
7. Inappropriate clothes
Even if it’s 85°F on the thermometer, don’t forget about your dress code. Short shorts and long skirts are better for weekends. For regular work days it’s more appropriate to choose classic clothing that is lighter and made of natural fabrics.
8. Bright makeup and perfume
When summer comes, you should not only reconsider your clothing but also your choice of makeup. Substitute thick concealer with a light BB cream, and black eyeliner with brown. Don’t forget that perfume can also be good for either winter or summer. If it’s really hot, don’t use any perfume at all. A deodorant and shower gel in your favorite scent will make you feel good enough and smell nice wherever you go.
9. Wearing black
People don’t usually wear black clothes in hot weather but they often forget about shoes and bags. And even though they usually look really nice, black accessories can look very strange with summer dresses and skirts.
