10 Celebrities Who Ended Up Marrying Their Celebrity Crush
Many of us have celebrity crushes and it’s no secret that we sometimes fantasize about being married to one. And even though to some of us it might seem unimaginable to even cross paths with them, to celebrities, this part is quite more believable and doable. Some celebrities were lucky enough not only to meet but even tie the knot with their celebrity crush, making their dreams come true.
We at Bright Side found out that celebrities also have celebrities crushes, and this tickled our curious brains, making us eager to find out who of them managed to say “I do” to their famous crushes.
1. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon first met at the 2005 Teen Choice Awards when Cannon presented the singer with an award. Cannon revealed that he was fond of Carey before they even started dating. At the time, he couldn’t keep what he felt to himself, and in his interviews, he said only good things about her.
When Carey heard one of Cannon’s interviews, she approached him and he said to her, “They’re true! Just give me an opportunity to make them come true!”
No one believed that Cannon could be “the one” for Carey, but he proved them wrong, and 3 years after meeting each other, the couple tied the knot. Even though they split 6 years later, Carey and Nick remain friendly and continue to co-parent their twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
2. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher
Mila Kunis’s first-ever real kiss was with Ashton Kutcher on That ’70s Show when she was 14 years old. And even though Kunis always had a crush on Kutcher (even before their first kiss), it took them more than a decade to get together as a couple.
Better later than never, Kunis ended up marrying her first kiss in 2015, and now they have 2 kids together.
3. Josh Duhamel and Fergie
Josh Duhamel had a crush on his now ex-wife, Fergie, before they even met. He played the spontaneous card and asked the producer to invite Fergie with her band, The Black Eyed Peas, to be guests at his show, Las Vegas. Needless to say, his plan worked, and they eventually started dating.
The couple got married in 2009, and in 2013 they welcomed their son, Axl. Unfortunately, Duhamel and Fergie separated 4 years later.
4. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian
Kanye West had his eyes on Kim Kardashian way before they started dating. He revealed that he had a crush on Kardashian ever since he saw a photo of her with Paris Hilton in 2006.
They started dating in 2012, but at the time, Kardashian was still married to her now-ex-husband, NBA player Kris Humphries, but they finalized the divorce in 2013. The same year, on Kardashian’s thirty-third birthday, she and West got engaged and tied the knot the following year.
5. Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose
Wiz Khalifa was drawn to Amber Rose even before they started dating, and he didn’t hide it. In an interview, when Khalifa was asked if there was one girl in the world that he would like to be with, his answer was “Amber Rose.”
Rose didn’t stay indifferent, and she hit him with a message on Twitter. They fell in love and got married in 2013. But their marriage didn’t last long and they divorced a year later.
6. Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa
Lisa Bonet was literally Jason Momoa’s childhood crush. When Momoa was 8 years old, he watched The Cosby Show and when he saw his now-wife, Bonet, on TV, he recalled saying, “Mommy, I want that one.”
Momoa’s wish came true in 2005 when the couple started dating. They got legally married in 2017 and have 2 children together.
7. Adam Sandler and Jackie Titone
Jackie Titone met her soulmate, Adam Sandler, on the set of one of his most popular movies, Big Daddy. Even though Titone was cast for a small role as a bartender, she and Sandler had time to bond on the set and they soon started dating.
They have been happily married since 2003 and share 2 daughters together.
8. Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara
In an interview in 2014, when Joe Manganiello was asked what physical qualities he’s attracted to, he simply said, “Sofia Vergara, that’s it.”
Manganiello and Vergara dated for a year, and in 2015, they got married. In an interview in 2017, Manganiello was asked who his celebrity crush was, and without hesitation, he replied, “I actually got married to my celebrity crush.”
9. Carmelo Anthony and La La
Carmelo Anthony had a huge crush on La La, and he asked a mutual friend to introduce them. After they met, their relationship started as a friendship and later evolved into something more. They got married in 2010 and are now parents to their son, Kiyan.
10. John Travolta and Kelly Preston
Kelly Preston revealed that when she was 16 years old, she saw a poster of John Travolta as she was walking out of a theater and had sort of a flash, knowing that someday she’d be with him. She recalled that after seeing the poster, she said, “I am going to marry that man,” and eventually she did. After meeting in 1987, they tied the knot in 1991 and were together for 29 years until Kelly died in 2020.
