Why Working on a Relationship Is More Important Than Meeting the Right Person

From a young age, most of us have heard that we should find the right person. However, this has been proven somewhat wrong according to a study. Now we understand why we should shift our focus from finding “the one” to actually working on a relationship.
We at Bright Side found out important key points about why we should try to stay with our current partners and stop looking for a prince on a white horse.
You both change in a relationship
We all have different personalities that might even seem weird to others. But in a relationship, those personalities don’t matter anymore. This is because together we create relationship-based traits that apply to both of us. These will actually explain why fighting for your partner is a better choice than wandering around alone, looking for the right person.
You understand how happy the relationship makes your partner and you accept their commitment. You feel lucky to be with them and you know how to deal with all of your conflicts.
Different personalities make the relationship more interesting.

The difference in our traits as individuals is what makes every relationship exciting, dynamic, and edgy. Opposites attract, like extroverts and introverts, night people and morning people, planners and impulsive people, etc. For many couples, these can create a challenge, but they are still considered to be important aspects of a successful relationship.
Staying in a relationship means you will build even more trust and love.
When you have someone by your side, someone you can trust to support you all the way, you will have the motivation to reach any goal you set. As each year of your relationship goes by, you continue to build over your past achievements. As a result, your love will get stronger and you will be able to get the best out of your partner, and your partner from you. Your romance will create happiness, warmth, and hope.
Even when things don’t go the way you have planned, it will be a lot easier to turn things around. With an understanding partner, not only will your motivation be high, but more opportunities will open up, you will have more fun, and you may even earn more money. This can’t be attained if you stop your relationship in the middle and go on a journey to find the right partner. You will just end up needing to build trust, love, and confidence all over again.
Healthy fighting leads to better communication.
Small fights are not a reason to leave everything behind just to find the right one, who won’t fight with you. Every couple fights and if you are fighting from time to time, it shouldn’t be an issue. This is because a healthy relationship experiences this all the time.
The key is to understand how a small fight can be positive for both of you. It can give you a chance to explain how you feel, your intimacy will become stronger, and you will even learn more about your partner. But remember that fighting has its limits, it shouldn’t lead to toxic behavior and psychological or physical abuse.
You already know all the good and bad about your partner.
Starting a new relationship means that you should start learning your partner’s personality and try to tolerate the things you don’t like very much, after all, we all have negative traits. But staying in a relationship means that you already know how you both work together. Going through problems and having someone to hold hands with when you feel down can’t be done with a partner you just met. You have a romance, intimacy, and openness that you will need to build for a long time with someone new.
Do you and your loved one have different personalities? Would you rather fight for your relationship or leave and look for another partner? Do you have any tips on how to handle a fight in a healthier way?
