Oh well, I'm sharing this one with my brother... he has some serious issues with his feet smelling ?
6 Shoe Hacks That Are a Small Step for You, but a Giant Leap for Your Feet
It is time to learn new hacks that will help you solve the problems you have probably been experiencing with your shoes. It isn’t that easy to tell real shoes from fake ones, to remove bad smells, or to make your heels a lot more comfortable. But that’s changing right now!
We at Bright Side have the solutions for all of these issues and more, and we are happy to share some bonus info about how to tell whether shoes are fake or not.
1. Remedies for smelly shoes and feet
We have all been in a situation where we didn’t want to take our shoes off in front of others because they were too smelly. But luckily, there is a natural spray that you can easily make at home. All you need do is to mix these ingredients in one 2 oz spray bottle:
- 1 oz rubbing alcohol
- 1 oz apple cider vinegar
- 4 drops tea tree oil
For smelly feet and shoes, the tea tree oil is not necessary, but it is very good to use against fungi, so we recommend that you add it too.
Sometimes new shoes can smell very weird, and they can easily make your feet smelly too. To get rid of that smell, you can either pour some baking soda and let it sit for at least 12 hours, or place some tea bags inside.
2. Heel grips for better control
Heel grips provide better control over your shoes. Whether it is about your sneakers, heels, dress shoes, etc., a heel grip is perfect for preventing slippage. This also means that it will reduce the chance that blisters will form.
3. Using vinegar to bring back the shine on your leather shoes
Here comes our magical superhero, vinegar. This time vinegar will take care of the water and salt stains on your leather shoes. This simple hack will save you a lot of time and money too. All you need is one toothbrush and some vinegar. Pour some vinegar in a bowl and dip the toothbrush in it. Start cleaning the water stains and you will see wonderful results.
4. Panty liners for sweaty feet
It is time to say goodbye to sweaty feet thanks to this simple hack. It might seem weird, but panty liners do a great job at absorbing the sweat in your shoes and, at the same time, preventing slippage and providing a little extra comfort.
5. Bananas, for cleaning your leather shoes
Bananas smell a lot better than shoe polish and do a great job at cleaning the leather. They will give your leather shoes a shine and it won’t be sticky. All you need to do is clean the shoes with the inside of the banana peel and then let them sit for a few minutes. Then remove anything that is left on the shoes with a cloth.
6. Buy new shoes in the evening to get the perfect fit
The afternoon or evening is the best time to get yourself a new pair of shoes that will fit you perfectly all day long. This is because, during the day, we have been walking, sitting, and our feet have been under pressure the whole time. This means they’ve become swollen. If you buy shoes in the morning, when your feet swell in the afternoon, your shoes will no longer fit.
Bonus: Finding out if shoes are real or fake
The cheap version of Adidas Yeezy Boost 350s have random patterns on the soles and they are completely different from each other. This is one of the best ways to detect if a pair of 350s is original or not. Authentic 350s have a random, fingerprint-like pattern.
When buying a pair of shoes, sometimes you might notice that the production date is different. This doesn’t mean that the shoes are fake. What you should look at is the UPC code. If this code is legit then you are looking at the real deal.
Always keep in mind that big companies don’t make mistakes that easily, even if it comes to shoe boxes. Even the size of the box can tell you if the product is a replica or not. Today we have the internet at our disposal, and here are few things you can use it to check beforehand:
- Type of box
- Box size
- CPU code
- Retail tag and stickers
- The tag inside the shoes
