For example, during pregnancy, the uterus stretches from the size of an orange to the size of a watermelon — not to mention the fact that women are more flexible than men and more likely to survive traumatic injuries. And celebrity women prove this to be true as well. Despite their tremendous amount of work and travels, these famous ladies managed to give birth after 40, and they’re rocking the mom life.

1. Naomi Watts, 40

The famous British actress and film producer, Naomi Watts, gave birth to 2 boys, Sasha and Kai, at the age of 39 and 40, respectively. Though Watts shares a lot of happy family pictures on Instagram, she said in an interview that she wished she could have started earlier so that she could have more kids now.

2. Gwen Stefani, 44

In 2014, Gwen Stefani and her then-husband, British musician Gavin Rossdale, welcomed their son, Apollo, to their family. Later, Stefani shared that she considered Apollo to be a miracle boy since she was 44 years old.

3. Julianne Moore, 41

Julianne Moore welcomed her daughter, Liv, to the world in 2002, when she was 41. Liv wasn’t her and her husband Bart Freundlich’s first baby, as she had given birth to their son, Caleb, in her late thirties. Moore is a pro-choice activist and advocates for Planned Parenthood.

4. Christie Brinkley, 44

The American model and actress has 3 children, including her daughter, Sailor Lee, who was born in 1998, when Christie turned 44. The actress shared that she and her husband survived several miscarriages before they got pregnant with Sailor.

5. Brooke Shields, 40

Brooke Shields and her husband, Chris Henchy, had their daughter, Grier, in 2006, when the actress was 40 years old. Shields shared that she was about to quit trying, as they had multiple attempts at fertility treatments, but the final round of IVF turned out to be successful.

6. Salma Hayek, 41

In 2007, the Mexican-American actress got engaged to French businessman, François-Henri Pinault. Salma gave birth to their daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, on September 21, 2007, at 41 years old. 2 years later, Salma and François got married on Valentine’s Day in 2009 in Paris.

7. Rachel Zoe, 42

The famous fashion designer shared in an interview that her first son, Skyler, whom she had at 39, was unplanned. But after giving birth, she couldn’t help but stare at him and love him more and more with every second. In 2013, Zoe, at the age of 42, announced that she was expecting her second child, Kaius.

8. Celine Dion, 42

Dion’s first son, René-Charles Angélil, was born in 2001 via in vitro fertilization. Later, after suffering from a miscarriage in 2009, she announced that she was pregnant with twins. On October 23, 2010, Dion (who was was 42 years old back then) welcomed twins Eddy (named after Dion’s favorite French songwriter, Eddy Marnay) and Nelson (named after Nelson Mandela).

9. Kim Basinger, 41

Kim Basinger and her then-husband, Alec Baldwin, welcomed their only child, Ireland, in 1995, when Basinger was 41 and Baldwin was 37. The couple separated in 2000 and divorced in 2002, which included a 7-year custody battle over their daughter. Today, Ireland is 26, and she’s a fashion model and actress.

10. Uma Thurman, 42

Uma Thurman was married twice and has 2 children from her second marriage. In 2007, she began dating French financier, Arpad Busson, and they announced their engagement in June 2008. Later, however, they called off the engagement. The couple has a daughter (Uma’s third child), Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson, known as Luna (born in July 2012).

11. Tina Fey, 41

The SNL star and Golden Globe-winning comedian, Tina Fey, found out she was pregnant with her second child, Penelope, in 2011, when she was 41. Tina shared that it was a conscious decision to get pregnant.

12. Alyssa Milano, 41

Charmed star, Alyssa Milano, and her husband, David Bugliari, had their daughter, Elizabella, when Alyssa was 41 years old. The actress shared that she actually loved waiting a long time to be a mom.

13. Helen Hunt, 40

In 2001, Hunt started a relationship with producer Matthew Carnahan. And 2 years later, in 2003, when the actress turned 40, they had their daughter, Makena Lei.

14. Madonna, 42

The Queen of Pop had her second biological child, Rocco, at 42 years old. After that, she adopted the rest of her children and become a proud mother of 6.

15. Halle Berry, 47

The actress welcomed her first child, Nahla, at 41 years old. A few years later, she gave birth to her younger son, Maceo, when she was 47. Halle Berry once shared what it’s like being pregnant in her late 40s and revealed how shocked she was when she first found out about it.

Isn't 40 becomming a normal age to have kids? I know some family members of mine had them at that age

I wouldn't like it if my parents were 40 years older than me, mine are 30 years older right now and I already find it quite a gap. i think you can do more things with them when they are younger!
