20+ Photos From Family Albums That Make Time a Tangible Thing

We can’t physically catch or stop time. But thanks to photographs, we can catch some wonderful moments, keep them alive for decades, and come back to them when we feel the need for sweet nostalgia. It’s an even greater pleasure to try and recreate a gem from your family album in the present, and see how life has changed while the years were flying by.
Here at Bright Side, we love flipping through our family albums, and if you enjoy doing this too, have a look at these 20 “then and now” family photos that Reddit users shared with the world. We’d be happy if this collection inspires you to create similar collages that connect the present with the past.

I am so sorry! I hope you are doing okay.

I would like to recreate some family photos with my brother. I just wonder where we could find similar clothes that fit us :p
haha I would definitely do that too. Not with my brother - I don't have :p - but with my ma :))
That would be fun to do also. I can imagine sitting on my dad's lap now 40 kilos up hahaa
well for me it's like 60 kilos up but ok :P
moms never complain
yeap, true :)
Honestly my mother would not want past photos of herself posted, so I’d have to pick my dad or sisters. I am the opposite of mom, I think I was a cute kid but I can’t get that same joy in pictures of myself now. (Not trying to sound depressing, just trying to get used to being 32)
Is everyone ignoring #5, the mother looks like Blakey Lively! Also, I love photos like these. I have been asking my husband to recreate photos with his two brothers for a while now. There’s a set of photos his aunt took of him (the oldest) as a toddler playing in her fountain, but he is not allowed to recreate those! It’s the family’s favorite, but a 34 year old shouldn’t be naked in a fountain.
