The popular singer Kim Petras has become one of of A-listers together with Martha Stewart and Megan Fox that appeared absolutely stunning on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2023. Kim’s appearance on the cover was significant not only because she looked amazing, but because she appears not one of the typical models that can be seen on magazine covers.

Kim has made history with her appearance on the magazine cover.

Kim Petras has literally made history as she has now become the second transgender woman to ever be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.

The extravagant singer has been selected to be one of the stars of Sports Illustrated’s annual issue, together with Megan Fox, Brooks Nader, and Martha Stewart.

The first transgender woman to be on the cover was actress Leyna Bloom in 2021.

The singer treats this event very seriously.

While being asked about her feelings about becoming a cover star, Kim called it “iconic”.

“I was so excited when I got the call to be in Sports Illustrated,” she said. “It’s very iconic, and a lot of very iconic people have done it before, so it was a big dream come true for me.”

Kim’s appearance on the magazine cover has its own mission.

Kim is never tired of speaking about how important it is for the transgender community to be represented. In her interviews she admits the pressure she’s felt throughout her career.

“It’s definitely a scary time to be transgender in America, but there’s also so much more representation than there’s ever been, and there’s so many things on the bright side,” she said.

I do feel a pressure sometimes to represent the trans community with everything I do, because I feel very blessed that I am at this point where I have all these amazing opportunities that I’ve worked really hard for, and feel so happy when I hear from trans people in general that they’re inspired by me.”

Kim Petras is a strong example of a real fighter who wants to be heard. She’s not the only one in her struggle, and here’re 8 people in the entertaining industry who also share their thoughts on representation. We’d love for you to learn more about their struggle, and maybe they’ll become a real inspiration for you.
