10 Times a Stranger’s Kindness and Compassion Meant More Than Words Ever Could

In my parents’ hallway there’s a frame where my sisters lined up all four of our fifth-grade photos next to Mom’s from 1969. Same chin, same stubborn bangs, five different decades. These 10 family photos put people next to their moms and grandmas at the same age, from a dress saved for 40 years to four generations in one frame, and side by side the resemblance is hard to unsee.
“30 years ago my mom and grandma won 1st place at a mother daughter look alike contest”
They beat 100 other pairs and were awarded $300
My mom is on the left, grandma on the right
In the photo, my mom is 31 and my grandma is 54
They are both the first born daughter and so am I. I look very similar; except I’m taller
“25 years apart: My Mom and I. Same dress, same age.”
I couldn’t find a wicker back chair, so I sorta made one! :))
My Dad bought it for her. It was extravagant for her at the time and was kept in a bag in the back of her closet till she gave it to me a few years ago :))
My Mom has me beat hands down in the smile department :))
“My mom at age 18 [1978] and me at the same age [2015]”
I never saw the resemblance when people said I was her mini-me until I saw this photo.
Even her right eye being smaller than the left eye when we smile big is identical
We both have been told how similar we look but both of us really didn’t see it haha, so this is so funny.
She’s still being stubborn about it and just said “I guess I can see some similarities” after I sent her this post lmfao. To be fair in real life I’m almost 5’11 and she’s 5’3 or so.
Always thought my mom was so very beautiful, and she is so big on health and natural beauty. She hardly even wears makeup. Realizing I truly do look just like her is giving me such confidence right now!!
From the author:
My sisters spent a whole Saturday on the fifth-grade frame, and most of it was an argument about the order. Oldest to youngest was fair, but it put Mom’s 1969 photo right next to mine, and that’s how we found out I’m the one with her chin. My oldest sister says it figures: the baby of the family got everything, including the face.
“Daughter & I, both age 2 in the same dress.”
She’s literally my mini me. Lol
It’s all thanks to my loving mama. She kept it for me for 40 years.
We were talking about pizza for her birthday
dinner, her fav. Then I showed her this. Her reaction was: “Let’s go. Pizza.” Then walked away. Lol she was unimpressed.
“Me at 2yrs old in 1991 vs my beautiful Grandma at the same age in 1932. I love when people say they can see the resemblance.”
“Here’s a picture of my mom and I around the same age.”
Half Japanese and half Italian (my mom is Japanese and my dad is Italian).
My mom has aged amazingly well. She is 65 years old now. It doesn’t scare me but I hope I am as beautiful as her when I am her age!
“My mother and I at my ‘wedding’ in 1986, and at my real wedding in 2011 ❤️”
I had an active imagination and a full dress up wardrobe 😊
She’s 77 now and still just as beautiful
I was adopted by her and my father when I was 3 days old ❤️ they were BORN to be parents. I consider myself the luckiest woman on earth to have them.
From the author:
Mom stood in front of that frame for a full minute without a word. Then she pointed at her own crooked bangs from 1969 and said she cut them herself over the kitchen sink. My oldest sister did the exact same thing at 14, and Mom still calls it “the 1991 decision.” Turns out the decision wasn’t even original.
“I don’t think I got any genes from my dad’s side. Mom and I at the same age, 27 years apart”
“My mom (left) and myself (right) at the same age.”
“Four generations at around the same age: my great grandmother 1930’s, my mammaw 1960’s, my mom 1980’s, and me!”
And it’s kind of funny because when I was 5 and she introduced me to her friend and said, “I’m her grandmother”, I said, you’re not my grandmother, you’re my mammaw!!!!" My mind was blown lol!
The last photo on this list holds four generations in one frame, and nobody in it was trying to look alike. It works the same way in my mom’s hallway: the resemblance hides in small things, a chin, a smile, the way a head tilts toward the camera.
Have you ever found a photo of your mom at your age, and who did you see? Tell us in the comments.
