After rushing for the last 12 months, we finally get a chance to slow down, spend time with our loved ones, and just be happy doing nothing. It’s finally time to wrap up in a blanket, drink hot chocolate, and watch Christmas movies.

Here at Bright Side we want to help you a little bit with the last point, so we came up with a list of recent Christmas movies to watch over the holidays when you get tired of “Home Alone” playing on repeat.

1. The Christmas Chronicles (2018)

This is a story about 2 kids, a brother and a sister, who can’t get along, but happen to be on a journey with Santa after sneaking into his sleigh. They now become responsible for helping Santa after they accidentally play a part in crashing his sleigh. They then have to help fix everything, help Santa on his mission of delivering presents on time until morning, and bring the Christmas spirit back to their own home. This movie is a true Christmas fairytale and is a pure joy for both kids and adults.

2. Christmas Inheritance (2017)

To prove that she is responsible, the heiress to a multimillion dollar business of her father’s is forced to travel incognito with only $100 to her hometown, where she has never been. She has to deliver a special Christmas package, but happens to be forced to stick around for a while to learn some important lessons from the people around her. This kind movie won’t leave anyone indifferent and will definitely put you in the right Christmas mood.

3. Klaus (2019)

An unambitious postman from a wealthy family is sent to an island above the Arctic Circle and is promised to be cut off the family estate if he doesn’t deliver 6,000 letters. The problem is that on the island, people barely exchange a couple of words, much less send letters to each other. The hero has to come up with a plan to make people use his services and ends up starting the world’s Christmas tradition. Klaus won the hearts of the viewers, and, believe us, it’s not something you want to miss.

4. Let it Snow (2019)

The movie tells stories of several young people, every one of which has a problem to handle in their small town on Christmas Eve. They make mistakes along the way while trying to figure out their lives, as the day brings them all together. It’s a funny mix of love, friendship, family, and holiday spirit that makes Let It Snow a perfectly irresistible movie that viewers already love deeply.

5. A Christmas Prince (2017)

A journalist sneaks into the royal house pretending to be a school tutor, with the intention of finding out more about the scandalous prince of Aldovia — however, the truth she discovers turns out to be completely different and deeper than anyone could imagine. Now she has to decide what to do with it — to write a sensational article that will probably make her career or to keep the love and respect of those she has befriended. This funny and easy movie is exactly what is needed for a nice and cozy holiday evening.

6. A Wish for Christmas (2016)

Sara Thomas has many bright ideas, but she doesn’t get any credit for them, because her boss brings them to the company founder as his own. When it happens again, she wishes for the ability to stand up for herself for Christmas and her wish comes true. With her courage, she manages to get opportunities she’s never been close to and constantly succeeds, but the problem is that the wish is only granted for 48 hours. It’s a nice and relaxing movie, but unobtrusively raises the topics of self-confidence and the importance of family, all framed in Christmas spirit.

7. Last Christmas (2019)

A young woman, who dreams of being a singer, works in a year-round Christmas shop as an elf. One day she meets Tom, and this meeting encourages her to make her life better and to make amends. If gorgeous Emilia Clarke and Emma Thompson aren’t already enough motivation for you to watch it, we have to tell you that the movie has an unexpected twist and is honestly amazing.
