Emily Ratajkowski Says “There’s Nothing Better” Than Divorce by 30 in Response to Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ Split

Like many of us Emily Ratajkowski was following the unfortunate divorce of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. However, the model’s reaction was highly surprising as she appeared excited for Turner entering the new chapter of her life as a divorced woman under 30. Ratajkowski’s enthusiasm resonated with a lot of women online, who offered their unique perspectives on the matter.

Sophie Turner married Joe Jonas in her early 20s.

The Game of Thrones star met her future husband when she was only 20 years old. At the time, the show was in full swing, but, instead of enjoying her popularity and singledom, Turner chose to start a family with the global pop star. By 2019, three years after getting together, Turner and Jonas were married. Only a year later, the couple welcomed their first daughter, and their second one arrived in 2022.

Seemed like Sophie and Joe were true soulmates, until they shocked the Internet with the announcement of their divorce in September 2023. The alleged reason was different lifestyles and prolonged separation caused by different work locations. And just like that, Sophie Turner, who was 27 at the time of the separation, will be divorced by the time she turns 30.

Emily Ratajkowski encourages women to get divorced before 30.

While many people expressed their diverse thoughts on the Jonas-Turner divorce, one opinion stood out among the rest. The famous model and actress, Emily Ratajkowski, took to her TikTok to indirectly react to the news. While Emily didn’t name Sophie in her video, she posted it very shortly after the divorce announcement and mentioned specific things concerning the couple in question.

Ratajkowski pointed out that many women tend to get divorced before 30 these days and continued to say: “As someone who got married at 26, has been separated for a little over a year, at 32, I have to tell you, I don’t think there’s anything better.” She explains that if you live out the “married fantasy” in your 20s, then you enter your 30s wiser and gain a better understanding of what you want from life.

Emily finished the video by seemingly addressing Turner in an attempt to show support and some encouragement: “So for all those people feeling stressed about being divorced, it’s good. Congratulations, congratulations.” In response, many women in the comments section shared how they wish they waited getting married until 30, while others said they will definitely not rush with the wife status.

It seems like Hollywood is experiencing a divorce era with such couples as Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello, Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied, and even Britney Spears and Sam Asghari all deciding to divorce. Sofía Vergara, in particular, seems to be on the same page with Emily Ratajkowski in terms of staying positive after a divorce. The actress is having the single summer of her life, and you can read about it here.
