Pimples appear all the time, it is a completely natural cycle for anyone at any age. They can pop up all over your body and appear in many different forms and shapes. It’s very promising that we can do something about it! There are a variety of natural approaches to soothe the skin, and it is highly achievable to get your complexion back on track even after picking at your pimples.

Bright Side has found a handful of natural ways to help you get rid of pimples.

1. Ice

The more ice you apply to an inflamed pimple, the more it will progressively start going away until it completely disappears. Ice will help heal the pimple by reducing the redness and this, in turn, makes the pimple look less visible. Putting ice on the pimple can also help if it’s a painful one, like a cyst.

You can choose when to use this ice cube procedure. Depending on your daily skin routine, you can apply it in the morning and evening, or even multiple times a day. If you have many pimples, use a larger pack of ice. For just 1 pimple, place a covered ice cube on the pimple.

How to use:

  • Gently clean your pimples with warm water
  • Put a wrapped ice cube on the pimple in 1-minute increments
  • Wait a few minutes before you apply it again, as this will prevent tissue disturbance
  • Don’t forget to take it off before you go to sleep

The best part is, even if you do not have any ice, you can use a bag of frozen veggies!

2. Jojoba oil

Jojoba oil comes from a tree that is grown in dry places like northern Mexico. It is taken from the Simmondsia chinensis seed and people use it for medicinal purposes. Filled with rich vitamins and minerals, it does just the job when it comes to skin hydration and it can also be used to fight infection. What’s even better is that it can be applied over your eyes with no irritation.

How to use:

  • Place a small amount of the oil on your fingers.
  • Rub it gently on your face.

3. Crushed aspirin

Aspirin is a natural-based medicine, deriving from Spiraea — a sea of shrubs that include salicylic acid (great for reducing acne) which ancient Egyptians used as an anti-inflammatory method. This non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) helps with the redness and swelling that pimples can sometimes cause when they become painful cysts. This natural aspirin strategy should only be used if the pimples are more serious, that is if they are becoming very painful.

How to use:

  • Crush aspirin into a powder and mix it with warm water.
  • When you’re done with the first step, put the mixture directly on the pimple to reduce inflammation.
  • This will help treat the pain following a rash.

You can add some honey to the mixture too.

4. Flaxseed oil

Flaxseed oil carries an omega-3 fatty acid called alpha-linolenic which is excellent for cutting back the swelling, dryness, and irritation of the skin. This will keep your skin hydrated, refresh skin cells, and even out your natural skin tone, like the cherry on top!
If you have pimple scars already and it’s too late to heal them, do not worry. Flaxseed oil serves to slightly remove pimple scars and blemishes from your skin.

How to use:

  • Put 1 drop of flaxseed oil on your finger.
  • Put it on the disturbed space of your skin.
  • Blend it in.

5. Cucumber

Not only are they healthy for your insides, but they’re also amazing for your outsides! Cucumbers are super rich in nutrients like vitamin C and folic acid, they’re also hydrating and soothing for your skin, which means they’re superb for creating a face mask and decreasing inflammation.

How to use:

  • Blend a small cucumber and one cup of oatmeal.
  • Stir a teaspoon of this mixture with one teaspoon of yogurt.
  • Place on the face.
  • Leave it on for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse your face.

6. Rosemary oil

Rosemary, or Rosmarinus officinalis, was used regularly back in the day — Egyptians sometimes used it for worship, and Greek students used it to boost their memory. Its family tree includes everything that you love to add to your food when you cook, like oregano and basil! Rosemary is filled with healthy buds like calcium, vitamin B-6, and iron.

The oil itself is good for getting the skin to glow and lessens the pain and inflammation caused by pimples. If you’re looking to blossom, then this is your natural solution because it has antioxidant qualities!

How to use:

  • Mix 2 tablespoons of green clay and 1 tablespoon of aloe vera.
  • Add 2 drops of each of the following: rosemary oil, tea tree oil, and lemon essential oil. Mix them all well.
  • Put it on your face and leave it on for 5-10 minutes.
  • Wash off with cold water.
  • Repeat after 1 week.

Another cool fact is that it helps battle aging.

What natural procedures do you go through when treating your pimples? Would you consider using the above steps?
