Meet Pam Shasteen, a 60-year-old woman who found herself falling head over heels in love with a 21-year-old heartthrob named Jonathan Langevin. Age may just be a number, but for these 2 lovebirds, it feels like a barrier that the world just can’t seem to understand.

Pam’s heart fluttered with excitement when she stumbled upon Jonathan’s message on a dating app back in 2018. At first glance, she thought he was just another baby-faced teenager. But as they got to talking, Pam soon realized that Jonathan was far from just another youthful fling.

“Jonathan is the love of my life and I don’t care what anyone thinks,” she explained.

Pam was initially hesitant due to their age difference, but couldn’t ignore the spark she felt with Jonathan. They fell in love, and he revealed that he was actually only 19 years old. Despite societal norms, they were committed to making their unconventional love story work.

Despite all the outside noise, the couple spent a few days together before Jonathan had to leave for Minnesota. Pam didn’t want him to go and begged him to stay, and he agreed without hesitation. With nothing holding him back in Minnesota, Jonathan decided to move to Oklahoma to be with Pam.

Pam wanted her daughters to meet Jonathan and gave them a heads-up about his age. During the visit, Jonathan played with Pam’s granddaughter, and her daughters became open and happy about the idea of their mother dating someone younger.

But it wasn’t easy for Jonathan.

Jonathan also had to explain the relationship to his parents, who knew about his attraction to older women and gave him their blessing.

When the couple met Pam’s friends a few weeks later, it turned out to be a disaster, despite Pam’s expectations of their support. They refused to interact with Jonathan during their meeting, leading to an uncomfortable silence. Later on, they warned Pam that Jonathan was using her in the relationship. “[A friend] said he was young enough to be my grandson and that I needed therapy. I was so hurt,” Pam said. She chose to cut them out of her life for good.
