“I’m the Luckiest Person in the World,” Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor’s Relationship Proves True Love Has No Barriers

Age-gap relationships, also known as May-December relationships, often face social disapproval, especially when the older partner is a woman. However, at the same time, partners with a notable age difference are often more satisfied and committed to one another than partners who are more similar in age. Actresses Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor sport a 32-year age gap, and it looks like, despite everything, their love story is thriving.

Bright Side believes in storytelling and its limitless power, and today we want to tell you about an atypical relationship — as some might say — and prove, once again, that true love will rise above anything.

When Sarah and Taylor first met, they were both in other relationships.

Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor are big names in Hollywood, and both of them have multiple awards under their belts. Sarah Paulson’s most iconic roles are those from the TV show, American Horror Story, and as for Holland Taylor, she’s best known for her performance in Two and a Half Men.

Paulson and Taylor first met in 2005 at a dinner and, at that time, they were both committed to other people. Paulson reminisces about that night, claiming that Taylor was probably “the most exquisitely beautiful woman” she’d ever seen.

It took one decade for the actresses to actually start dating.

10 years later, Paulson and Taylor started following each other on Twitter and after sliding into each other’s DMs, they started exchanging messages and ended up going to dinner together. Taylor was the one who took the initiative and made the first move.

In a cheeky interview, Taylor admitted she was in a relationship with a woman (without giving a name) and even said, “There’s a very big age difference between us, which I’m sure shocks a lot of people, and it startles me.”

After 1 year of being together, against some people’s advice, the couple went public and proudly displayed their love.

In 2016, the couple made their first public red carpet debut, and Paulson confirmed their relationship: “If my life choices had to be predicated based on what was expected of me from a community on either side, that’s going to make me feel really straitjacketed, and I don’t want to feel that. What I can say absolutely is that I am in love, and that person happens to be Holland Taylor.

The couple might be private, but they have nothing to hide.

47-year-old Sarah Paulson and 79-year old Holland Taylor have a wonderful love. “I’m the luckiest person in the world; I can’t talk about my life today and not mention this wonderful love,” The Practice actress stated. “A big age span is a challenge to any relationship. And Sarah’s just very brave. She’s very brave and she is very truthful and she’s going to live her truth; she’s at the center of my life.”

The couple shares snaps from their special days and they don’t waste a moment telling the whole world how much they love each other. Recently, Paulson posted an ode to Taylor: “Love of my life. The one. The only one. I am the luckiest of the lucky. I love you only. Happy Birthday, magical poet darling.”

Sarah and Holland never miss a chance to tell the entire world how much they love each other.

Holland Taylor confessed, “I’m from an older generation and for me, it’s quite surprising how people talk about personal things of any kind in the press. Sarah, of course, is from a different generation, she’s very much of today. It was hard for me at first to go through that membrane of being a private person.”

Together since 2015, the couple has sparked discussions about age gaps between partners and made LGBTQ relationships more recognizable in Hollywood.

If the quote “Age is just a number” would need a picture, one of Taylor and Sarah would perfectly describe it.

Addressing their notable age gap, Paulson said, “People look at me and Holland and say, ’Mommy issues,’ but I parent her as much as she parents me, so that’s not it. I’m with a much older person, and people find that totally fascinating and odd and to me, it’s the least interesting thing about me.

Paulson continued, “There’s a poignancy to being with someone older. I think there’s a greater appreciation of time and what you have together and what’s important, and it can make the little things seem very small.

What do you think is the perfect age gap for a relationship to thrive? How many years are there between you and your partner? Let us know in the comments.
