14 Photos of Albino Turtles Who Are Living Proof of Nature’s Endless Creativity

The chances of spotting an albino animal are close to zero, but this only reaffirms the fact that they look like they came straight out of a fairytale. Turtles who were gifted with this feature look totally out of the ordinary, some of them remind us of dragons, while others look like a slice of cheese. For example, one of them is so unique, that it was born with its heart exposed. Its owner Mike, told us a bit more about his love for albino turtles.
We at Bright Side were absolutely hypnotized by these 15 photos of magical beasts in a turtle shell.
Mike told us that he has had turtles since childhood, but at the age of 24, he saw his first albino turtle. “I immediately fell in love with it because it was something I never imagined could exist. Solid yellow turtles blew my mind.”
Turtles are a great alternative for people who can’t have furry animals. Just like dogs and cats, turtles are sweet, love their humans, and even beg for food like all pets do.
He also explained that it’s not just the color that distinguishes them from other turtles. While regular green turtles avoid contact and try to hide as fast as they can. An albino’s eyesight is slightly impaired, so they don’t hide when they see humans, but are more outgoing and sociable.
Mike added that, unlike other regular turtles, albinos need human companionship to survive. Because of their colors they are easy to stop and easy targets for predators.
And this turtle named Hope became a celebrity on the internet. It was born with its heart exposed, but thanks to Hope’s caretaker she has already celebrated her first birthday and continues making her fans happy.
Other internet users also couldn’t miss their chance to show the albino turtles that they’ve found, or that they own.
Have you ever seen an albino turtle in real life? What are some of nature’s other miracles that you’ve encountered?
