Keanu Reeves is said to be one of the nicest and most generous stars in Hollywood. The actor has had a glittering career, but away from the cameras he has lived through a series of personal tragedies. Reeves is currently on the big screen playing, for the fourth time, the dog-obsessed hitman who has lost everything, and reveals why the role means a lot to him.

The actor recently shared a heartwarming explanation for his continued involvement in the portrayal of the lead character in the John Wick franchise a decade after his initial appearance. During the London premiere of John Wick: Chapter 4, which was attended by numerous celebrities, the actor expressed his thoughts on the film.

Reeves stated that he likes playing the role due to the character’s sense of determination and sorrow, and he finds the movies enjoyable. “I like his will, I like his grief,” the star revealed. It seems that the actor, having had his share of personal tragedy, can relate to the character he plays in the movie. By reliving his own real-life sorrow through the character, the movies hold a special place in his heart.

From the stillborn birth of his daughter, Ava, to the death of his former girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, it hasn’t been an easy ride for the 58-year-old actor, which is why fans were delighted when he confirmed he had found love back in 2019.

During the premiere, Reeves set the tone by arriving first and dressed handsomely in a dark green corduroy suit. Co-stars Natalia Tena and Rina Sawayama also looked stunning in their glamorous outfits.

Reeves revealed in an interview that playing the character of John Wick challenged him to go beyond his limits. He commented, “I try really hard, but with John, you have to try just a little bit harder.”

The new action-packed John Wick features returning cast members like Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King, Ian McShane as Winston, and Lance Reddick as Charon. Singer Rina Sawayama will also make her film debut as Akira. She shared her positive experience working with Reeves, stating that he possesses an unassuming and approachable demeanor that makes him a joy to be around, like a beloved family member.

In recent months, director and producer Chad Stahelski shared in an interview that Reeves has a “great presence” as well as a “calming presence.” He also hinted that John Wick will face more challenges and endure more suffering in the upcoming fourth film. Stahelski stated, “We keep finding new and interesting ways to have John Wick suffer.”

Keanu Reeves absolutely does seem like such a humble and thoughtful person. I feel like he was likely always that person but his heartbreak and tragedy that he has endured has further shaped him into the remarkable human that he is. He seems to be admired by so many people. He is an icon in his own right. Someone should recommend him for a special award of acknowledgement for all of the wonderful things he does related to his work. He's truly one of a kind.
