10 Celebrities Whose Acts of Kindness Made Us Want to Hug Them

Nothing beats the joy of seeing people’s eyes light up, knowing that we are the reason behind their smiles. And when it comes to Hollywood celebs, some of them love to use their privilege to make others happy, whether it’s by donating large sums of money or unexpectedly performing small acts of kindness. And even though they have the means to do it, these generous acts really matter, even coming from them, because they prove that a kind person’s heart remains pure even when it has all the world’s distractions and temptations at its feet.

Bright Side can’t get enough of stories that show us the human side of our favorite stars. We’ll share some uplifting situations that are full of positive vibes and waves of generosity.

Paul Walker

The beloved actor passed away in 2013, but people still remember his exceptional kindness and generosity. He once walked into a store where a couple was looking for engagement rings. He noticed that they had found the perfect ring but left the shop without getting it because it cost $9,000, which was way over their budget. Paul Walker ended up purchasing it for them but asked the store clerk to keep it anonymous.

The couple found out 10 years later that it was the late actor who got them their dream ring.

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner shared on her Instagram a simple yet efficient way to support those in need. In the video, she fills Ziploc bags with necessary items, such as socks, tissues, toothbrushes, granola bars, and some dollar bills. She then goes to the street and hands the bags out to the homeless.

The actor is known for his heart of gold, and this good deed is just one on an endless list of selfless acts. In fact, Keanu Reeves donated a whopping amount of money — 70% of his salary from the first The Matrix film — in order to fund leukemia research. This is a cause close to his heart given that his younger sister had battled the disease for 10 years. Since then, he has also launched a charity foundation to help those battling cancer.

The Hollywood star flew a 4-year-old leukemia patient named Jayden and his family to California to have a lunch date together at Disneyland’s Club 33. The mother shared the experience, saying, ’’The entire interaction was like old friends having lunch.’’ And it seems that the actor’s wife and daughter were also present there and that the little boy was “treated like royalty.”

Zach Galifianakis

In 1994, the comedian met a woman named ’’Mimi,’’ and years later he found out that this 87-year-old lady was homeless. Zach Galifianakis rushed to her aid by finding her an apartment and paying her rent. He also introduced her to actress Renee Zellweger, who furnished the apartment. The old woman even escorted him to some of his movie premieres.

The actress is known for her strong support of humanitarian causes. And she proved that she is also a kind person through small gestures in her everyday life. She was once making a guest appearance on a TV show when a fan had a panic attack while waiting for her outside. Angelina Jolie rushed very quickly to her side, comforted her, and then took a selfie with the woman.

Bryan Cranston

The Breaking Bad actor had heard about a 19-year-old cancer patient who was a big fan of the series and, in particular, of his character, Walter White. And given that meeting the actor was #1 on the teenager’s bucket list, Bryan Cranston had a chat with him via Skype for 30 minutes and also sent an ice cream truck to his home.

The singer actually opened a restaurant with no prices on the menu, only a suggested donation to cover the cost of the meal. This way, customers can enjoy gourmet meals, either by paying a nominal fee or by volunteering by prepping food, bussing tables, or stocking the shelves. Bon Jovi stated, ’’At a time when 1 in 5 households are living at or below the poverty level, [...], this is a restaurant whose time has come.’’

The actor doesn’t like to miss a chance to make a child smile. He visited a children’s hospital wearing the full pirate costume of his popular character, Jack Sparrow, from Pirates of the Caribbean. Needless to say, the kids were more than happy to see this beloved character and enjoyed their time taking selfies with the star.

Robert Downey Jr.

The actor is Iron Man in the popular Marvel franchise, and it seems that he is a superhero in real life as well. In 2015, Robert Downey Jr. gifted a robotic, transformers-style arm to a young boy who is missing his right arm. The star also met the child and had even brought his own movie arm with him, and the 2 tried theirs on and compared the lights inside their palms.

Do you agree that giving makes us even happier than receiving? What is the most recent act of kindness you’ve done?

In a comparison of 20th-century beauties with modern stars, Angelina Jolie’s iconic status is reaffirmed. Despite controversies around beauty standards, Jolie’s timeless appeal remains unchallenged.
