Being a mom is certainly a great responsibility, but unfortunately, some of us didn’t have the opportunity to grow up with the widely accepted norms of a good family. Still, what we put forward for our children is far more critical than what we got from our parents.

I just try my hardest to always listen fully to what they're saying before I talk and try harder not to raise my voice. Some things that they say are going to be triggering for us, and yes, I fail with the best of us,but I try very hard to give them my attention and the respect to feel heard. Feeling unheard hurts us also, so we know it hurts them and then we may also miss what they are going through.
I'm a mom's to a 23moon old girlie. I'm so much more humbling than 10yrs ago. An can't wait to pass on life lessons and teachings to her.
