Some get creative and “invent” new names, like Chicago, Wednesday, or Apple, which generally mean ordinary things but have special meanings for the parents.

We at Bright Side want to talk about the Hollywood parents who decided to choose special names for their kids and explain what they really mean.

1. Orlando Blum and Katy Perry: Daisy

In 2020, Katy Perry and Orlando Blum welcomed their baby daughter, Daisy. This cute name that generally represents the flower also has a cute meaning. As Perry later explained, Daisy, for her, means purity.

2. Halsey and Alev Aydin: Ender

Halsey and her boyfriend, Alev Ayding, gave their son a very special name, Ender Ridley. Ender is a Turkish name that means “very rare.” To announce the son’s birth, Halsey posted a sweet photo of him on Instagram, saying, “Gratitude. For the most ’rare’ and euphoric birth.”

3. Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith: August

Although Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith’s son is named August, he was born in July.
