9 Times Kate Middleton Altered Designer Outfits and Looked More Spectacular Than Models on the Runway

It’s no secret that Kate Middleton often appears in public wearing the outfits created by famous designers. But sometimes the look of those dresses and suits doesn’t match the protocol of royal rules and some amendments have to be done to them. Nonetheless, designer outfits in no way lose their charm after such alterations but, on the contrary, get a fresh and sophisticated look.
We at Bright Side decided to find stylish outfits of the duchess where some elements have been changed and compare them with the original versions.

The Duchess reached out to her favorite fashion house Alexander McQueen to create the looks for her 40th-anniversary photo session. It looks like one of her dresses with an asymmetrical top and puffed sleeves was inspired by their fall-winter collection. While models demonstrate the dress with flower print, Kate opted for a monochrome scarlet color for her shoot.

For another look at her photoshoot, Kate opted for a light, airy dress with open shoulders and bows on the sleeves. Unlike the runway collection, the Duchess’ dress doesn’t have a corset with drop-shape decorations.
Jenny Packham dress
Kate showed up at another premiere of a movie about James Bond Spectre also in a Jenny Packham dress. She complemented it with a top with straps and covered her shoulders with a cloth.

The Duchess opted for a dark blue floor-length dress to attend a gala dinner in support of charity organizations. Initially, it had open shoulders, but Kate altered it; she either pilled up the top part of the dress or amended it completely.

The painted silk dress in muted tones, which the Duchess chose to go out to a sports match in, differed from the dress presented at the runway show, with shorter sleeves with ruffles and edging at the waist.
Markus Lupfer dress
During the visit of the royal family to Germany, the Duchess opted for a dress by a German designer to attend one of the events. Kate decided to don the sleeveless midi dress with a bird print with her own belt.
Erdem dress-suit
The Duchess opted for an outfit by Erdem for one of her business trips. The designer had a collection that included skirts, trousers, blouses, and dresses with a floral print. He also created an exclusive suit with the same print for Kate, having added a top to the already existing skirt.
Which alterations, in your opinion, made the dresses look newer and more elegant than the original ones?
