Why Brad Pitt Let a 105-Year-Old Man Live Rent-Free on His Estate

Celebrities often engage in humanitarian work to make a positive impact on the world. The non-profit work of movie stars serves to inspire and motivate others to contribute to meaningful causes and make a positive impact on the world. For a long time, Brad Pitt has been known as a great philanthropist, but one of his biggest acts of kindness went unnoticed for several years.

Brad Pitt has earned a reputation as a philanthropist, dedicating a portion of his wealth and celebrity status to support various charitable causes. Together with his then-partner Angelina Jolie, he traveled to Pakistan in November 2005 to witness the aftermath of the devastating Kashmir earthquake.

In May 2007, the couple made significant donations to 3 humanitarian organizations providing aid to Chad and Darfur in response to the crisis in Sudan’s Darfur region. As a result of his extensive philanthropic work, Newsweek recognized Pitt as one of the “15 People Who Make America Great” for his role in raising awareness of humanitarian causes in Africa.

His non-profit work has spanned several decades.

It would be hard to list all of the humanitarian work the famous actor has done throughout his career. And although his non-profit efforts already span many years, Pitt still makes sure that he helps those in need to the best of his ability.

In 2020, Brad Pitt was captured while transporting and distributing food and groceries for low-income families in Los Angeles. In the same year, he also reunited with former partner Jennifer Aniston for a charity event. They were also joined by Julia Roberts and Mathew McConaughey, among other stars, to put on a performance for a good cause.

Recently, a former neighbor revealed that Pitt also likes to help out in his personal life too.

Cassandra Peterson, who rose to fame as Elvira, recently shared in an interview that Brad Pitt had quietly performed a significant act of kindness that had remained unnoticed for years. Pitt had become neighbors with Peterson when he purchased a property in Los Angeles. After Pitt’s elderly neighbor lost his wife, the Oscar-winning actor stepped in by offering the widower a place to stay on his estate.

The situation that led to Brad Pitt’s act of kindness was a consequence of the gradual expansion of his estate. According to the actress, there were around 22 neighboring properties adjacent to the estate’s edge, and Pitt purchased them whenever they were available. One of these properties was owned by an elderly man in his 90s, and Pitt made an arrangement that enabled the man to remain in his home.

“He was very, very kind to the husband. His wife passed away and the husband, John, lived there,” Peterson said in the recent interview. “I know that Brad allowed him to live there without paying anything until he died.”

Jennifer Aniston reflects on her relationship with Brad Pitt, emphasizing their enduring friendship. Despite their high-profile split, they remain “buddies” over 15 years later, supporting each other’s successes.

In the film “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” Brad Pitt’s character subtly hints at his sniper abilities by closing one eye at the shooting range. This small detail foreshadows his character’s skills revealed later in the movie.

Before finding fame, Brad Pitt worked as a chicken mascot for El Pollo Loco. This humble beginning contrasts sharply with his later success, illustrating the unpredictable paths that can lead to stardom.

The agreement between Pitt and the elderly man lasted longer than the actor might have anticipated, and Peterson remarked that “...it was kind of funny because John lived to be 105.”
