There are a lot of people out there with good hearts that are kind what a blessing 💕💕
10 Acts of Kindness That Teach Us Tender Compassion Is the Key to Lasting Happiness

Some of the most meaningful acts of kindness happen in places when nobody is looking. Someone with no connection to you, no obligation to help, who steps up for you anyway. These are 10 true stories of real compassion and wisdom arriving in the smallest packages, the kind that restore your faith in humanity and remind you that being seen by one stranger is sometimes all it takes.
- I had a bad childhood. Left home the day of my high school graduation...packed up my car, went to high school and never went home.
I was homeless, living in my car and on random friends’ couches, working as a dishwasher at a restaurant. I’d hide food that came back to the kitchen untouched so I had food the next day.
The chef caught me one day. Pulled me outside in the alley where we took breaks. I figured I was fired. Instead he asked me what was going on. Gave me fresh food to take home (he said it’s dangerous doing it the way I was).
Then when the weather started getting cold he and his wife cleaned out part of the space in the room above their garage and let me live there for free. He had no reason to be nice to me and he was.
- After a longgg day my car decided it was done. I had both my kids with me. And it was hot.
A woman, another school parent I saw a few times, came over. She said, “Car trouble? Hang on.” She came back with jumper cables. Got her car, connected everything correctly, and waited while the battery charged.
Her own kids were in her backseat the whole time. She stayed until my car started and then followed me out of the lot to make sure it worked lol.
When I tried to get her contact information she said, “Just help someone else sometime.”
Jumper cables are for connecting both batteries and starting your car from another battery. I may be wrong but I have never heard of charging another car battery with them
- I was dropping off bags of old clothes. The volunteer behind the counter was going through donated items, keeping some aside in a separate pile.
I asked what the separate pile was for out of curiosity. She told me the store had an arrangement with a local shelter. Any time a new family came in with kids, she set aside appropriate sizes for them.
She had been doing this for 6 years, every shift. She knew the sizes to watch for, the things kids actually wear.

so precious and so. adorable and the cuteness overload ever❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
- When my daughter was young we were in a store and she wanted a doll. I didn’t have the money to buy it. So a woman heard our conversation and gave me $20 to buy the doll for her. My daughter still talks about this, 30 years later.
And I was recently in the same store and a little girl asked her mom for a toy and mom said she didn’t have the money. I told her about my daughter and gave her $20 to buy her daughter a toy. I will never forget that woman who made a life long memory for my daughter.
Inflation over 30 years, the poster scored. Should've given 40
- I was moving boxes into a new apartment alone in the rain. Because the friend who promised to help bailed on me. I was trying to make as few trips as possible and failing.
A man who was walking by with an umbrella just stopped and said, “How many more trips?” I said too many, laughing. He set his umbrella down against the building and helped me carry the rest inside. We moved boxes for like half an hour.
When the truck was empty he said, “Good luck in the new place,” picked up his umbrella and left. Just said, “Some other day maybe,” when I offered him coffee.
- I have been witness to some amazing acts of kindness throughout my life, and have even been blessed enough to receive a few of them. The one I am going to share is probably one of the most memorable for me, and has helped shape me into who I am today.
The year I turned 21, I transferred from my job in California to a location here in IL. I am from here originally, but when I came back I moved to a new city, so I didn’t really know anyone.
I had been at my new job location about four months when my birthday rolled around. I made a couple of work friends, but in four months I am still new and still getting to know people. There was a TGI Fridays nearby and I decided, “Hey I’m turning 21...why not?”
So I head up there with one of my work friends and the next thing I know, the entire night shift shows up and it is a surprise party. To me it was one of the kindest things anyone had ever done. I didn’t advertise my bday, didn’t expect and wasn’t expecting anything from anybody and yet here is this crew of awesome people that took me by surprise and did this for me.
The icing on the cake is that I made a best friend that night and 20 years later we are still friends to this day.
- One time while at a restaurant with some friends I didn’t get any food because I think I ain’t have enough money. Luckily the manager of the store gave me a plate of chicken wings because he didn’t wanna see me without food. At the end of my time at the restaurant I shook hands with him because it was such a nice thing to do.
- I went to a tax prep office expecting the usual forms, numbers, and a bill. The preparer spent more time on my return than I expected. She asked like dozens of questions about my situation. I was panicking for a reason I don’t even know.
But OMG she found a credit I hadn’t known about that made a real difference to my return. When I thanked her she said she always asked the extra questions because most people don’t know what they were entitled to and that wasn’t their fault.
It was the fault of a system that made it complicated. She said, “You earned this, I just found it.”
- I’m 71 and was leaving the supermarket with 4 cases of water in my cart when a teenage girl with shocking pink hair stopped, loaded them into my trunk, fist bumped me and said, “Have a good day handsome!”
- My husband left me. Moved in with my best friend of 19 years. Never heard from them again. I kept it together for our son.
A month later, on his birthday, I found a gift at our door. Signed “from mom.” I didn’t order it. I went numb when I opened it and saw the train model set my son wanted but I couldn’t afford. He happily took the gift and hugged me, thanked me but I was so lost.
Then I remembered that about a week ago, I went grocery shopping with my neighbor. She’s been so supportive of my situation. I casually mentioned my son’s birthday was coming and he wanted a train set but I couldn’t afford it because of the rent and bills...
She went ahead and bought it for my son. Didn’t even want any credit. She wanted him to think mom got it for him. I just, couldn’t help but break down.
I went over to her house and thanked her. She said, “It’s not a big deal. The best gift for your son has been you all along.” I guess sometimes we meet people at the toughest times of our lives and they somehow pull us out of it. I think I finally found a true friend.
Such a lovely lady.
Amd yes a true friend.
