A Mom Hits Back After Cruel Trolls Tell Her She’s “Not Hot Enough” for Her Husband

Ali Clarke was left literally “horrified” after she posted a video about her business that brought on angry critics on her looks by cruel Internet trolls. Many viewers of the video commented on her appearance, saying her husband was “too hot” for her, and she needed to watch out. Now, this mom has a statement to make, and she hopes to be heard by as many people as she can reach.
It all started with an innocent video promoting Ali Clarke’s business.
Ali Clarke recently went live on TikTok just to talk about her skincare business, Bondi Blades. She launched it in 2016 and has collected followers on social media by giving tips and advice to other young entrepreneurs.
It was planned like a live Q&A with her husband but turned into a flood of vicious comments from other users. The busy mom was left “horrified” and “disgusted” after her husband, Ben, who manages sales in the business, joined her live stream and cruel remarks just started popping in.
The nasty comments came both from men and women. They included remarks about Ali’s facial features as well as claims that her husband was “too hot” for her, and she needed to “watch out.”
The woman said the whole situation left her feeling “embarrassed.” But Ali quickly pulled herself together and wanted to share her point to raise awareness about online shaming.
“Social media has enabled cowards to disrespect people without fear of consequences. If they met me in person, I doubt they would be able to say the same things”, says Ali.
Clarke shared her powerful thoughts about the situation, and they resonated in the hearts of many.
“It was quite hurtful to have people saying such nasty things,” said Ali. “Women are supposed to support other women and for them to be coming in, saying, ’Your husband can do better than you,’ and ’I’m coming for your man,’ it hurt, and it’s intimidating too.”
Ali shared she and her husband of 7 years have always tried to ignore the floods of nasty remarks and stay focused on business, but eventually, Ben was forced to step in.
“It was only when my husband came on that it started. To begin with, I felt embarrassed that he was seeing these comments, but then I started to feel uncomfortable. We tried to ignore them as best we could but when they kept coming and coming my husband told people, ’It’s not appropriate,’” explained Ali.
Finally, the woman decided to share a video on TikTok calling out the behavior.
“The comments started to flow in and there were some really horrific things. People were commenting on my appearance, my teeth, my nostrils, all these horrendous things,” revealed Ali in her video. “I’m not here to be judged and criticized. At the end of the day, people leaving cruel comments need to look at themselves in the mirror.”
Ali is now summoning social media platforms to “hold these people accountable” and provide better safety tools to prevent anonymous accounts from being created.
