One woman remembered her brief time working at the hotel when the housekeeper grabbed a vacuum and started vacuuming the sheets. Her surprise escalated when she witnessed how the toilet was cleaned, leaving her jaw literally dropped. Let’s see what else she recalled.

A woman took to TikTok to share how she quit her job as a hotel cleaner in just 27 minutes.

In a TikTok clip posted by Laugh Track (@tallandfunny1982), she showcased her lightning-fast stint in hotel housekeeping. In the stitch video, we meet the creator, responding to a question about the shortest time she spent at a job before quitting. She hilariously reveals that she lasted a mere 27 minutes—barely even half an hour!

“They explained to me the job, and I decided I was going to take the job,” the woman said. “It was basically an executive, the person over the housekeepers at this specific hotel here in Gwinnett County. This was years ago, I had just moved here around 13 to 14 years ago.”

She recalled being told by an employee that since she ranks higher than the other workers, she needed to know the protocol. The woman proceeded to show her what to do as they went to clean a room.

“I love to clean, let’s do it,” the TikToker said. “Three things happened in that 27 minutes.”

She then said that she accompanied three to four young ladies on a cleaning job and was shocked to see what she saw. “I’m gathering materials, you need gloves, bleach, and I’m like OK we’re going to get it,” Laugh Track told. “She said, ’No, no, no.’ When she said no, I knew it was going to be some nonsense.”

So Laugh entered the bathroom ready to use bleach, but the woman stopped her. “She grabbed some tape, wrapped it around her hand, and started patting the floor to pick up debris,” she recounted. “After cutting off the tape and tossing it, she sprayed the room and declared, ’Bathroom’s clean.’ I was like, ’Oh no.’”

The next issue was the bed. The woman noticed it looked like someone had slept in it. When she tried to remove the sheet wearing gloves, another housekeeper intervened. “Oh, don’t do that,” the housekeeper warned.

The housekeeper “picked up a vacuum and vacuumed across the sheets.”

The housekeeper proceeded to vacuum the sheets, run her hand over them to smooth them out, and then neatly made the bed. The “record holder” was shocked by this and felt like she wanted to take action against everyone present.

In the final incident that pushed her to quit, the housekeeper used an unconventional method to clean the coffee dispenser cups. Instead of replacing them, she filled one cup with water and soap, poured it into the next cup, rinsed with hot water, dried them, and put them back.

“I said, ’Oh OK.’ I grabbed my jacket, it was on the back of one of the chairs, my keys were in my pocket,” she said. “I put my jacket on, walked past them, clocked out, and walked out of the door.”

TikTok users support Gemini’s choice to leave.

Housekeeping should never skimp on cleaning rooms; it’s both unprofessional and risky for spreading diseases. TikTok users supported her decision to quit and were curious about the hotel’s location. Some expressed concerns about what this woman might have discovered if she had stayed longer. Others mentioned their own precautions, such as bringing their disinfectant or avoiding hotels altogether.

Ensuring thorough cleanliness in hotel rooms is crucial for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for guests. Cutting corners not only reflects poorly on the hotel’s professionalism but also increases the risk of spreading harmful diseases and bacteria. This is especially important in shared spaces like hotels, where numerous people come and go, making proper cleaning protocols essential for everyone’s well-being.
