Nowadays, many celebrities launch their own beauty and clothing lines or decide to try their hand at running a business. Some of them are also advocates of a greener way of living, so they choose to incorporate eco-friendly practices in their companies too.
We at Bright Side admire business owners who also care about the planet, and that’s why we made a list of celebrities whose companies have green initiatives.
1. Pharrell Williams
In 2014, Pharrell Williams launched a clothing line that recycles plastic in a very unique way. Waste collected from the ocean is converted into bionic yarn, a material 4 times as strong as traditional yarn. The bionic yarn is then used to create apparel for Pharrell’s RAW for the Oceans collection.
2. Rihanna
Rihanna founded her cosmetics and makeup line, Fenty, in 2017. The brand is popular for its inclusivity, as anyone can easily find their perfect shade in Fenty’s large range of foundations. Many of the beauty products are also refillable, proving that Rihanna also cares about the environment.
3. Drew Barrymore
The actress owns the cosmetics brand, Flower Beauty, which is cruelty-free and organic. All of the line’s products are made in the USA to lessen the environmental impacts of transportation.
4. Miranda Kerr
The supermodel also launched her own beauty products under the name KORA Organics. And as the brand suggests, the products are made from certified organic ingredients. Although Kerr founded the company in Australia, since 2017, it has also been expanding globally.
5. Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes has been a long-time fan of Alterna Haircare and since 2013, she has also become a brand ambassador and co-owner of the company. Alterna uses mostly natural ingredients and tries to stay away from harmful materials.

Giselle Bündchen designed a collection for the Brazilian shoe brand, Ipanema. The sandals and flip-flops are durable and made from recyclable materials. The company also supports green initiatives, such as protecting the water resources in Brazil.

The star has founded his own foundation with the goal of spreading awareness about the environment. Leonardo DiCaprio is also in the process of building an eco-resort on land he bought in 2005 in the Caribbean.
10. Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow founded the wellness and lifestyle brand, Goop, in 2008. Through the company, the actress has become an advocate of environmentally-friendly products and fashion. Goop has since partnered with green beauty brands and also launched its own sustainable clothing line.
