Keanu Reeves’ Girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, Reveals PERSONAL DETAILS About Their Relationship

Keanu Reeves made his relationship with artist Alexandra Grant public in 2019. However, not much is known about their romantic relationship, as both prefer to keep their love life private. In a rare instance, Grant decided to open up about her beau in an interview, giving the world a peek into their life together as a couple.

A professional relationship that blossomed into a romantic one.

Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant had their debut as a couple in November 2019 when they walked the red carpet together at the LACMA Art + Film Gala. Although to the public it may have seemed to be just the beginning of their romance, the duo’s history together actually goes much further back.

In an interview, a source revealed Reeves and Grant had actually been dating for years. “It wasn’t a secret,” they said. “They have been dating since at least the summer of 2017.”

And even before then, the veteran actor and the visual artist had been creative partners. They first met at a dinner party in 2009, and prior to being romantically connected, they set out on professional ventures together. They collaborated on the books Ode to Happiness and Shadows and opened their own publishing company, X Artists Books.

Starting to date later on in life was positive for them.

In an interview from September 2023, Grant spoke candidly about her relationship, including how it was to date someone in the public eye and who works in a different creative field. When asked if it was easier or harder to walk red carpets by herself, the artist showed self-assurance.

“The good news about falling in love as an adult is that I had built my own career by the time that my relationship had begun,” she said. “I feel very confident in the relationship on the red carpet. I feel confident on it alone. It’s interdependent and independent in the best ways.”

She also described how they complement each other when it comes to their jobs as artists in different mediums. “What I love about Keanu and our exchange is that we’re pushing each other to build new roads,” she explained. “Seeing the other person’s problem-solving is inspiring, like, ’Oh, well, okay, this one, that’s a cul-de-sac. How do I try this other thing?’”

Reeves has a strong positive impact on Grant’s personal and professional life.

Throughout the interview, Grant had nothing but great things to say about her boyfriend. “He’s such an inspiration to me,” she pointed out. “He’s so creative, he’s so kind. He works so hard.”

In fact, she is certain he affected her art in the best way possible. “I had a studio visit a few years ago, and this very kind, very high-level person said, ’I can see that your work has gotten happier,’” she recalled. “That’s real. We’re all human beings. We’re animals. We’re expressing from where we are and certainly feeling happier. I think the work is happier.”

She supports all of Reeves’ endeavors.

Although many might not know, Reeves isn’t just an actor, he’s a musician as well. He’s one-third of the alternative rock band, Dogstar. The Californian band was on hiatus for 23 years before returning to the music scene in 2023 with the release of a brand-new single and the announcement of a new album.

Reeves’ music career is a big part of Grant’s life, who admitted to rocking out to their tracks. “I’m really proud,” she said. “I am a huge Dogstar fan. I had the great pleasure of going to their first public show and because I’ve been listening to the latest album for quite some time, I was one of the only people in the audience who knew all the lyrics. That was really cool. It’s fun. It’s beyond fun.”

“I was dancing to all the lyrics, and then I looked around, and I was like, ’Nobody has heard the album except for me and a few people,’” she added. “It’s been a real pleasure to see the guys come back together, to be so creative and supportive of one another.”
