Congratulations to the happy family! They seem like a wonderful couple. I hope she has a much easier pregnancy, delivery, and healing experience than her first one and that wishing them joy and happiness.
Serena Williams, 41, Is Expecting Her Second Baby and She Chose the Perfect Time to Announce It

Fantastic news
Williams shared a carousel of snaps with her over 16 million Instagram followers, the first featuring her and her husband, Alexis, all glammed up and ready for the Met Gala. The couple were photographed holding hands and beaming with happiness while they both coordinated their outfits, looking elegant in black and white.
The other photos showed a glowing Serena, smiling, posing with pride, and holding her baby bump. Williams added the caption, ’’Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.’’
The post quickly gathered thousands of likes and enthusiastic comments, congratulating the lovely couple about the wonderful news.
Motherhood wasn’t on her mind for the longest time.
Serena and Alexis, who tied the knot back in November 2017, are parents to 5-year-old daughter Olympia.
Last year, the champion published an essay in Vogue where she opened up about wanting to start an ’’evolution’’ away from tennis and revealed her desire to expand her family by having another baby with Alexis.
The 41-year-old also admitted that she previously ’’never thought about having kids.’’ She noted, ’’There were times when I’ve wondered if I should ever bring kids into this world, with all its problems.’’
She also added, ’’I was never that confident or comfortable around babies or children, and I figured that if I ever did have a baby, I would have people taking care of it 24/7.’’
But after the birth of Olympia, Williams became a hands-on mother. She also explained that, in the span of 5 years, her daughter has only been away from her for one 24-hour period. She shared, ’’The fact is that nothing is a sacrifice for me when it comes to Olympia.’’
Her first pregnancy wasn’t an easy journey.
And even though she loves being a mom, the Tennis champion’s experience of delivering her baby was very challenging. In fact, she was hurried into an emergency C-section, and after giving birth, her wound reopened, and the doctors found dangerous blood clots in her body.
Speaking of birth complications, Serena recalled, ’’My whole life, I’ve been physically pushing my body to the limits.’’ She continued, ’’And this is the one time where I couldn’t control anything. I couldn’t push my body. My body pushed to its maximum. That was so hard.’’
Our congratulations to this couple — we can’t wait to meet their new bundle of joy.
