10 Healthy Habits We Can Learn From the British Royal Family

Due to their busy routines and many public appearances, royals need to be careful about their health. That’s why the members of the British royal family have many healthy habits that they’ve acquired throughout the years. Whether it’s doing yoga, eating eggs for breakfast, or working out regularly, these habits can all help us lead healthier lives.
We at Bright Side have collected 10 healthy habits from the British royal family that we can incorporate into our lives too.
1. Meghan Markle practices yoga.
During a 2016 interview for Best Health Magazine, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that she’s been practicing yoga pretty much all her life. Although Meghan admitted that she was reluctant when she first started yoga with her instructor mom, in her adulthood she started practicing hot yoga regularly.
2. Queen Elizabeth loves to eat dark chocolate.
According to former royal chef Darren McGrady, The Queen loves dark chocolate. She’s not a big fan of other types of chocolate though, preferring a cocoa content of 60% or higher. Dark chocolate is a much healthier alternative to milk and white chocolate, and it has a lot of proven health benefits. Among them are lowering blood pressure and improving brain function.
3. Kate Middleton incorporates plenty of raw food in her diet.
4. Princess Beatrice is a marathon runner.
When she ran the London Marathon in 2010, Princess Beatrice became the first person in the history of British royalty to ever do so. Since then she has run in plenty of races, most of the time for charities.
Even if most of us are not marathon runners, incorporating some cardio in the form of jogging or speed-walking into our routines will help us lead much healthier lifestyles.
5. Prince Charles’ favorite breakfast is a dish made of eggs.
In a 2020 tweet, Clarence House shared one of Prince Charles’ favorite recipes, Cheesy Baked Eggs. The recipe can be made with eggs, any kind of British cheese, spinach, tomatoes, and double cream. Eggs are a great source of protein, vitamin B2, and selenium and therefore prove to be a very filling and nutritious breakfast choice.
6. Princess Charlotte is fond of olives.
7. Duchess Camilla has an unusual but healthy favorite too: eating peas straight from the pod.
The Duchess of Cornwall has her own vegetable garden and loves snacking on her own produce. Her favorite snack is raw peas as she really enjoys the fresh, sweet taste. Peas have anti-inflammatory properties and are a great source of vitamin C, E, and zinc.
8. Prince William enjoys a short yet effective workout.
Prince William keeps in good shape with an 11-minute workout that requires no equipment and was developed for the Royal Canadian Air Force. His grandfather, Prince Philip, also enjoyed this simple timeless routine made of five exercises that target all muscle groups.
9. Prince Harry drinks fresh juice and takes supplements.
Ever since his relationship with Meghan, Prince Harry has been reportedly living a much healthier lifestyle. He likes to wake up early in the morning and start his day with a good workout and fresh green juice. He’s also been taking supplements recommended by a nutritionist.
10. Princess Diana enjoyed working out to improve her mental health.
According to her former personal trainer Jenni Rivett, Princess Diana didn’t work out just to stay in shape, but to improve both her physical and mental health. A regular workout routine has plenty of proven benefits for the mind, like reducing anxiety and stress and helping with insomnia and memory issues.
