The Incredible Story of a Couple Who Died Hours Apart After Being Married for 79 Years

Hubert and June have experienced almost every phase of life side by side, even death. The couple who were both 100-years-old, passed away just hours from each other after a life lived full of love. Here is a one-of-a-kind journey that will give you goosebumps from its start to its very end.

Their love was meant to be.

The lovebirds were both 19 when they first met in 1941. Not long after, Hubert proposed to June and asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. They went on to have three kids, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

And a little time ago, the pair gave an interview in honor of their centennial birthdays. Hubert had recalled, ’’When I saw her, I said she’ll be a good one.’’

They couldn’t be separated.

After living a long and remarkable life together, the couple passed away within almost 20 hours of each other while in the same hospice.

Their 76-year-old son Sam noted that his mom’s health took a turn for the worse after hosting a Thanksgiving pizza party for her family. Following this, she was admitted to a hospice for end-of-life care, and Hubert got devastated and reportedly “broke down.”

Speaking of his father, Sam noted, ’’He fell apart, really’’. In fact, the sight of June in such a critical condition was too overwhelming for Hubert, and as a result, his health rapidly declined.

Consequently, his family arranged for him to be admitted to the same hospice where June was receiving care, and he was placed in the same room as his beloved wife.

And even though they were lying unconscious, the couple were holding hands, until the 100-year-old husband took his last breath at 9:15 p.m. on November 30.

Just 20 hours later, on December 1st, his wife June passed away. Their son noted, ’’They went out together.’’

Even though he is heartbroken for having lost both his parents at once, Sam is choosing to celebrate their unbreakable bond.

The son noted, ’’I feel sad, but I shouldn’t.’’ He added, ’’Who can expect to live a life like that? They lived a long, happy life together, and they were devoted to the family.’’

What made their relationship last

Just a few months before their death, Hubert looked back at their almost 8-decade long love story and admitted, ’’We didn’t go through life without problems, but we would never do anything to hurt each other.’’

He also noted that he can’t imagine his life without June, saying ’’It’s kind of like if we aren’t together, the team is broken.’’ And by passing away together, this lovely couple was in a way in fact never separated.
