10 Celebrities Who’ve Made Mind-Boggling Requests Before Accepting Roles

A lot of people dream of being famous and adored by the whole world. However, one study shows that developing demanding expectations and a loss of privacy are a couple of the downsides to fame. And it is true that some big Hollywood stars can have astonishing requests they need to be fulfilled before they agree to take a role. However, these high demands are usually accepted because they are worth it when you consider the exceptional performance that these talented actors give us on-screen.

1. Tom Cruise needs stretchy G-string underwear.

The Hollywood action hero is famous for his jaw-dropping stunts. But it seems that in order to be comfortable enough to film the perfect scene, Tom demands custom-made G-strings. The underwear need to be made from soft, stretchy material so that he feels unrestricted when performing those action sequences. It is said that the actor, “was ­embarrassed at first, but he sees it as a way of ­improving his flexibility as he gets older.”

2. Jennifer Lawrence requests a Kardashian tent.

The actress revealed that it wasn’t easy for her to film the 2017 thriller Mother!. In order to cope with the dark nature of the film, she needed a Kardashian tent. She explained that, “It was a tent that had pictures of the Kardashians and Keeping Up with the Kardashians playing on a loop—and gumballs. My happy place.”

3. Ben Affleck wouldn’t wear a Yankees hat.

While filming his 2014 movie Gone Girl, one of the scenes required Ben’s character to wear a Yankees hat. The actor categorically refused, given that he is a die-hard baseball fan and a proud supporter of the Yankees’ rival. He told the director, ’’David, I love you, I would do anything for you, but I will not wear a Yankees hat. I just can’t.’’ The crew finally gave in and gave him a different hat.

4. Nicolas Cage demanded a real bat.

In his 1989 comedy horror film Vampire’s Kiss. Nicholas Cage had a scene where he gets bitten by a bat. The actor insisted on having a real, actual bat on set. However, the director of the movie refused his request and instead brought in an animatronic bat.

5. George Clooney requested a beach hut and a private garden.

While in London filming his movie Gravity, George Clooney wanted to bring “a bit of California to London.” So he requested a custom-made beach hut to be installed next to his trailer, he also asked for a private landscape garden, a hot tub, a deck area, and a basketball court. It is reported that the whole project cost £100,000 (equal to $130,000).

6. Lea Michele refused to scream.

For the series Scream Queens, the actress didn’t want to scream for fear of hurting her voice. She had admitted to telling the director, “I am screaming twice, and you’re going to have to use it the entire season. I’m a singer!”

7. Will Smith asked for a $2 million trailer.

When filming for Men in Black III in New York City, the big Hollywood star requested 2 luxurious trailers, one of them just to accommodate his gym equipment. One of these trailers costs about $2,000,000 to buy and has a fully-equipped kitchen with Italian cabinets and arched windows. It seems that Will prefers trailers while filming, given the fact that he was renting a 5-bedroom apartment that was located very close to the set.

8. Will Ferrell requested a mobility scooter.

For the sports comedy film Semi-Pro, the actor made a list of peculiar requests, like an electric 3-wheel mobility scooter, a fake tree, and a rainbow on wheels. Given that these items had nothing to do with the movie, the reason he asked for them remained a mystery.

9. Daniel Day-Lewis demanded to be treated as a disabled person.

The 3-time Oscar-winning actor is known for taking his roles very seriously and excelling at portraying each character. And so, when he accepted the role of a man with cerebral palsy in the 1989 movie My Left Foot, Daniel ’’asked to be wheeled around the set in his wheelchair, and crew members were required to spoon-feed him and lift him around.’’ He did this in order to stay in character the whole duration of the shoot.

10. Bruce Willis requested a $1,000,000 per day salary.

This movie star was offered $3 million for 4 days of consecutive work on location in Bulgaria for the movie The Expendables 3. But instead of the 4 million dollars he had demanded, it was reported that the actor was offered 3 million dollars. After disagreeing on the fee, the actor didn’t end up acting in the movie and was replaced by Harrison Ford.
