The Avengers is one of the most popular movies created by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie brings together many of our favorite superheroes and villains, and sometimes the actors get into character so authentically, that we forget that off-screen they are human just like the rest of us.

1. Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and his wife, Susan Downey
Iron Man, also known as Tony Stark, is played by actor Robert Downey Jr., who is married to executive producer Susan Levin. Their love story began when they met on the set of the movie Gothika in 2003. They got married in 2005 and the couple has 2 children: Exton Elias Downey (2012) and Avri Roel Downey (2014). The actor also has a son, Indio Falconer Downey, born in 1993 from his first marriage with Deborah Falconer.
2. Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and his wife, Elsa Pataky
Actor Chris Hemsworth gained worldwide popularity for his role as Thor, the God of Thunder, known on Earth as Donald Blake. He and his wife Elsa Pataky, who he married in 2010, have a beautiful family. The couple enjoys their 3 children: a daughter Rose Hemsworth (2012) and twins, Tristan and Sasha Hemsworth (2014), who think that their father is a real life superhero. How cute is that?
3. Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) and his wife, Sunrise Coigney
The Marvel Cinematic Universe would not be the same without this gigantic green man. The character, better known as the Hulk or Dr. Robert Bruce Banner, is played by actor Mark Ruffalo, who married actress Sunrise Coigney in 2000. The actors have 3 children: a son, Keene (2001), and 2 daughters, Bella (2005) and Odette (2007). The couple is considered one of the most solid, endearing, and united in Hollywood.
4. Josh Brolin (Thanos) and his wife, Kathryn Boyd
Actor Josh Brolin who plays the role of Thanos, a Marvel comic villain, is married to Kathryn Boyd and they have a baby girl named Westlyn Reign Brolin. During his first marriage with Alice Adair, they had 2 children together. Brolin also played the role of Cable in Deadpool 2 (2018).
5. Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson) and his wife, Jennifer Gray
Agent Phil Coulson’s character is played by actor Clark Gregg, who has shared his life with actress Jennifer Gray for almost 18 years. The couple has a daughter named Stella, born in 2001, just months after they got married. Although the character he plays makes a brief appearance in the comics, his participation was expanded within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
6. Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) and her husband, Taran Killam
Actress Cobie Smulders, who plays Maria Hill, married actor Taran Killam in 2012. They have been together since 2004 and have 2 children; Shaelyn Code Killam (2009) and Joelle Killiam (2015). Thanks to Taran’s Twitter account, we can see how much love and fun there is between these 2 actors and their family. Smulders is also recognized for her role in the How I Met Your Mother series, where she plays reporter Robin Scherbatsky.
7. Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and his wife, LaTanya Richardson
Actor Samuel L. Jackson has been married since 1980 to actress and producer LaTanya Richardson, who he met in 1974. Jackson plays the role of Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. He’s also well-known for his roles in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and Jurassic Park, besides being the voice of characters like Frozone in The Incredibles and Whiplash in Turbo. The couple has a daughter named Zoe (1982), who’s a producer and director.

Stellan Skarsgård plays the role of Dr. Erik Selvig. In addition to this, he is recognized for his participation in films like Mamma Mia! and Pirates of the Caribbean. He has 6 children from his first marriage, 4 of which are well-known actors, and he has another 2 with his current wife Megan Everett. What an incredible, big, and talented family!

He is known for the unique, eccentric, and dramatic touches he adds to his characters. The actor has a son, Nathanael (2008) with his long-time partner Leslie Stefanson. Previously he was married to decorator Victoria Wheel and they had 2 children together: Elijah and Sebastian.
11. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver) and his wife, Sam Taylor-Wood
British actor and producer Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the role of Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver. In 2009, when Aaron was 18 years old, he met his future wife Sam Taylor-Wood who was 42 at the time, on the set of Nowhere Boy. They announced their engagement the same year and got married in 2012. They have 2 daughters: Wylda Rae (2010) and Romy Hero (2012). This couple shows us that sometimes even a significant age gap means nothing, and they share their love through photographs on their social networks.
12. Paul Bettany (J.A.R.V.I.S and Vision) and his wife, Jennifer Connelly
The loyal butler of the Stark family, Edwin Jarvis, better known as J.A.R.V.I.S, is the artificial intelligence that supports the superhero Iron Man. Jarvis was played by Paul Bettany, who is married to Jennifer Connelly. Months after their wedding, their first son Stellan, named after actor Stellan Skarsgård, was born. Their second child, daughter Agnes Lark, was born in 2011. Actress Jennifer Connelly also has a son named Kai from her relationship with photographer David Dugan.

Actor and film producer, Don Cheadle, developed the character of the former officer of the United States Air Force.
